  5. Hi all going to goto Baden Hall soon for a couple of trips, ive asked the owners how the new Carp pond is made up of and they replied "Hi the carp lake is an ex sand and gravel pit so the bottom is gravelly and weedy". Just asking your advice on rigs, im going to make my own, what rigs would you advise and what materials would be best. Also what size hook would you recommend, fox or Korda? cheers guys. http://www.badenhall.com/New%20Pools.htm
  6. what do you use to grese the line?
  7. yeah looking at the videos the water is light brown and seen bits on bank so prob same as your lake, ie not the grey stuff, thanks for reply mate.
  8. lol nobber just seen it was you.
  9. yeah m8 but he tried it on all types ie braid mono flouro etc
  10. i watched some of this on the Korda DVD he was trying different lenghts and the a shorter seemed to work better, as the carp have less to eject. On the long rigs they seemed to have no trouble in gettting loose of the rig when they shook there heads as he said they had more line to play with? as it was more slack. Dont quote me on this as gospel just thought id mention it from the DVD.
  11. cheers guys thank for replys, helped me a lot
  12. cheers guys feel better about it now, just be gutted if i lost one due to not checking. cheers fellas
  13. Hi all, ive made somerigs up with 25 stealth skin brown ill be attching it to a kwik link as ill be pulling it through a stick mix. As im new to making a fig 8 knot for a loop to attach to kwik link will this knot hold ok? Im confident in tying the knot and wet it as i tied the loop. Just want my mind at ease as i dont want to loose any fish due to my fig 8 knot, not being strong enough. Thanks guys
  14. cheers tony, what natural food will grow on clay sorry im a bit cluless on stuff like that
  15. cheers for replys i was more concerned about the colour really ie will the brown colour work on clay, and will flourocarbon still work on clay etc. ill prob take an inch of the sheath for a combi link.
  16. Hi all, im off to the monument in may and the bottom is clay, what would you recommend for the rigs ie hook lenghts i have some korda IQ flouro and ive some 25lb SUFIX SHEATH SKIN BROWN, will these be ok on a clay bottom ie not stick out like a sore thumb and spook them off. what you think guys? what would you ise on this?
  17. Thats the tactics ill be using im going in may doing thurs & fri me and my cuz Paul, using them tactice ive read up white maggots on clip with bag of dead maggots on 1 rod other ill be using there own M boilies. Cant wait to go tbh £30 a day but hopefully all worth it, i know there fish in there so its up to me to catch any1 going in may? im on pegs 5 & 6
  18. cheers guys, im pretty new to using the rigs so ive not tied my own like i said mate i buy the kornm already tied hair rigs, i buy the 10lb so my hook lenght goes before my main line as my feeder is inline and stope by the swivel. So if my main line goes 1st my inline should slide of as i dont add any stops. Alos ledger ill ue the ledger clips etc. thanks all
  19. Hi all i like to use the method and ledger rigs, i have 15lb main line and use already tied hair rigs on 10lb to a swivel. Id like to try the fox and korda ready tied rigs but there tied to 20lb/9.1Kg Kryston Snake Skin. I dont want to sound dumb but do i have to change my main line to 25lb?
  20. cheers salokcinnodrog, ill try different lenght, i might alternate from time to time with bait buried or left out. Only time will tell. thanks
  21. cheers guys, what ill do is i wont bury the pop in the feeder ill just cast out and fingers crossed
  22. Hi all, would any1 use this idea, ive got a new Korda bag up inline method feeder. could i use a 3" already tied hair rig, with a 15mm pop up on there. Would this still be attractive to fish??
