salokcinnodrog Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Thread moved to Where to Fish in UK. I would also suggest that you put up a Search for "Monument" as there has been quite a bit on it in the Past Possibly one of the best people to ask for more on it is Jemsue5, if he's willing or able to tell you Quote
kevtaylor Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Mat Hayes did 2 programs from there, they should be repeated on Sky TV. From memory M1 boilies are fed on mass by the owner, so I'd give them a go with plenty freebies. I also think they did OK on maggots, using a feeder rig. Pretty much each swim has underwater features, so get that marker rod out. Hope this is of some help? Quote
milo06 Posted February 1, 2007 Author Report Posted February 1, 2007 thnx mate help much appreatiated have you done any days/ nyts on it ??????????? Quote
kevtaylor Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Sorry mate - never been, but maybe in future. Good luck anyway Quote
kevinp Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 hi mate on one rod you need maggots on a korda klip and maggots in a pva bag,on the other m1 boilies you can get the boilies from the monument there is features on the bottom of the lake about 50 yards out from any swim hope this helps, allso go on the monument web site it will who is catching what Quote
jemsue5 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 I havent fished it for a while but I do tend to keep in touch with whats happening there. Maggots are a must as most of the fish still get caught on them. I found big bunches of maggots didnt work as well as just a few on the hook or 5 or 6 super glued to a nylon d rig. Try using a large drennan blockend feeder instead of PVA bags its far cheaper and just as good. Other than that I had a few on flouros fished with 2 bait stringers cast out to the middle of the lake. Other than pegs 2 and 3 the features never produced for me it was always out in the middle where I caught. Quote
milo06 Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 cheers m8 loads of usefull info there Quote

nicko15 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 in this months carp talk a guy had an 11 fish catch with the biggest being a 46lb mirror, using pva bags filled with maggots. so from what everyone has said and judging by the catch reports it looks like maggots are definately the way to go. carpcrazy01 Posted May 17, 2007 Report Posted May 17, 2007 if your going to feed alot them spod a mixture of m1 boilies and pellets then p.v.a bag over the top thats wat most people on the programs ive watched do on it. Quote
stes Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 active 8s r spoze to b doing the bussness at the moment Quote
gradea Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 its so seasonal there, Maggots in the winter, false snails in the spring. Corn is always worth a try. Plus because they are so well fed and its quite pressured the slightest thing knocks them off the feed. On the side banks the features may as well not be there casting into the middle of the lake seems to get the results., either way its worth looking at the water and the conditions and be prepared to adapt, if a guy on the far bank catches on a zig the odds are the fish are in the upper layers Quote
johnplumb Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 I wonder how he got on , as he asked the question 2 years ago Quote
