  1. I had to check the date of this thread to make sure it wasn't April the 1st .
  2. Weighing fish in the landing net is poor fish care in my book . There is a reason why we support under the fish in the net when lifting out of the water . These purpose made slings are definitely the right option.
  3. This is how I see it to Big common I have similar standards and is also no surprise to me at the two members that decided to launch an attack on chillfactor. And in answer to his original post No I wouldn't pay the recommended retail price for some of those items. but at the same time if I didn't have the same stance as Bishop some of the discount prices are good value for people on a tight budget.
  4. This is a good idea. Will keep an eye on this one I like this sort of thing .
  5. You can buy it up to 14 mm just depends how heavy you are and how you like your bed really . Not much difference between the 8 and 6 mm though. 10 to 14 is for a firmer feel .
  6. http://www.webbingbucklesstraps.co.uk/product.php/elasticated_bungee_cord__6mm/?k=:::2871193
  7. Did mine with 6mm elasticated bungee cord. And it worked a treat.
  8. Well if Jim shelley said it , well it has to get true ! Met him once on the bank and that was one to many times not a likable chap .
  9. Me neither chap regarding the elastic rig .And completely agree with what your saying. Just wrote something along these very lines on the upper 20 topic.
  10. Yes probably that too . How are you guys doing the laughing emotions?
  11. I too found triggerlink a waste of time . Another gimmick . I am very much in the keep it simple camp . Location, Bait and bait application is far more important than some over complicated rig. I am positive that many of these rigs are made by anglers by simply putting all the components they have in a bag giving it a good shake and seeing what comes out the other end!
  12. Always make the loop in the thicker material with the albright knot . Just wondering what breaking strain mono would be best now . Probably 15lb ?
  13. Hi there . Yes I know it's fine for mono to braid it's a fantastic knot for that . Was wondering if it's OK for the materials salokcinnodrog mentions as neither are braid.
  14. Thanks for the reply. I prefer the albright knot would that be OK for non braid materials? Can't seem to get on with the grinner/ uni knot. Although I will try what you recommend. Thanks again .
