  1. Lots, fished there for years Pine pool is a dayticket water with a legendary status for holding some real dark mirrors, the larger syndicate waters hold some amazing fish, the only problem with the place is it is run by non-anglers and for some strange reason the fishing and anglers come way down on the list of priorities, The west midlands as a whole is not a good place for syndicate waters seems to be more in the north midlands and south, few good uns in Shropshire/Telford way.
  2. If you don't mind traveling to south brum, Hams Hall or Kingsbury are an option, might be worth heading down Northampton way if possible lots of club/syndicate waters around there.
  3. I'm going to have a tinker on Thursday when i re-do my rods, Just putting this out there...
  4. Nice one, always on the look out for new bait dedicated additives to add to my crumb mix liquids and powders are working well for me at the mo, i used salmon hydro and garlic plus the usual mix worked nice was even making me hungry.
  5. No advice on how to approach the beastie before i start undoing screws, going to try to adjust the screw at the back see if it will tighten things up, got the rear drag on full lock it was giving line when reeling in.
  6. Love the look of the Dynamite groundbaits hate the price, nearly a fiver for a small bag, i'll stick to the crumb and oats mix with added goodness. Hmm Crumb & Oats has a ring to it groundbait for the man-eaters, ha ha .
  7. Anyone know how to fix a slipping clutch on a baitrunner ST, it is giving line even when reeling in a bit of weed it is no longer safe for fishing unless there is a nut or something i can tighten? not worth paying for a service, couple of old RE Areo on gumtree could be a quick replacement for 20-30 notes, would sooner fix this one for now though. That last fish i had this week seems to of finished it off.
  8. Nice, always like a good windy day followed by a calm early morning, i had thunder lightning winds rain and lovely sunny days this week, felt like early Autumn but more humid. knew it would be good for a big un.
  9. Should try council repairs these days, that many contractors they have a number of valves on a simple shower pipe each one is a different contractors turf, ever seen the film Brazil?
  10. Always thought the US could be a world renowned wild carp venue for those that have the money or means to travel not much in the way of chunky mirror carp but their must be a few big commons knocking about, MacArthur park in LA did a 50 common and that place is very urban lol one for the Nash team to visit😆
  11. The method feeder was allowed on most waters as it was used for low doubles mainly, it was the threading of elastic into braid for a bigger fish rig that seen the elastic method feeder banned. think it was one of those rigs that looked good to the angler.
  12. Told today that Canal pool on KWP has been losing fish to Otters, one of the mid 30's that was moved from swan a few years back was found a few months back, that was one of a few fish that had the very weedy swan lake all to themselves, i doubt an otter could touch them in swan due to the dense weed and one real strong undertow shifting it all about.
  13. If you like 😀 no plugs thread... no it's Coventry Carp Baits, they are a bait rolling company that do stuff to order as well as their own in-house bait. That fish is from a carp water called Goslawice? looks like a nice water, just wondering what the typical mirror carp of Poland would be if there is such a thing, What would the UK have that is a comparable breed line, Simmo, Dinton, lennys, that sort of thing.
  14. Few guys that are on the bait team at CCB are over in Poland and i got to say i am liking the mirrors they are catching, got that bulky muscle look to them with out being too torpedo shaped. There are a few like the one above is that what would be called a Polish carp found in most waters in Poland? No this ain't a plug for my bait, i just like the big leathery belly draggier carp.
  15. Just a thought on the elastic rigs might want to run it past the lake owner most places will kick you off for using such a rig, they were popular back in the 90s as an adaption of the method rig, most waters that seen them banned them even today's method feeders no longer have the laggy band.
  16. Only ever fished it a few times as a kid, it holds a lot of local rumor and legend, think they allow parking on the lindley bank these days as car vandalism has always been a problem. Some are saying it is living on a different little ponds that the Sowe fills, probably eating scraps and dropped kebabs.
  17. Coombe could be a gold mine, if they would open the whole lake to anglers lots of big Zander Pike Bream and known 40 lb carp with plenty of rumors of bigger, like a cat that is over the 100lb range, pinch of salt with that one.
  18. See Coomb Abbey has not put any otter fencing up that little river connects up with the big lake some old fish in there plus they have never really added to the carp stock some are 40 years old or more. Thought they might be about when Hopsford hall put a fence up, not like a farmer to spend money for no reason.
  19. Too small a lake for that and it gets a good amount of bait going in most days this time of year, it's more of a fishing on the patrol routes they take and trying to get one or two to have a quick belly full swim.
  20. Preconceived ideas are hard to ignore once you have one rattling around, i have one brewing after looking around an empty peg the other day gives access to a margin spot between two islands, i reckon i might give a go for the next few sessions, just means walking past the more favoured pegs if they are empty.
  21. Check this busy inner city 40 mph road near the river sowe, which is more of a brook than a river in that area must of come up the avon. someones pond is getting it.
  22. Looks like a nice water with potential to do a big carp or two. Fair few match waters are looking for a new angler the match lads either stick to the big bagging waters or the rivers and canals, which are starting to see more matches again. I think all lakes should have a bait hoover or two, Sturgeon are perfect for clearing up old bait every lake should have one with a charity donation forfeit for anyone that catches it. dopey things don't stop eating.
  23. I tend to look more for a patch of hard mud/silt when margin fishing, if you are in soft silt and your next step feels solid then back to soft that's the one for me.
  24. Confidence for me is not an issue as much as i enjoy fishing what might considered circuit carp waters i still turn up and just bubble along, I try not to be too peggy on setting up, but if i know a peg does fish regular and is empty i will take it, some guys will go elsewhere if they don't get the going peg. if i'm lucky i might squeeze a fish or two out of it, much to the annoyance of the more pro carp anglers, that can empty the going peg Then you have the spot on a spot anglers and to be fair i couldn't say for sure what i'm fishing on think that is why i like weedy waters, if there is a gap, put a bait on it? I like to get out in my waders if i can and look for hard spots along the far bank margins place baits and rigs if i can, that's about as carpy as my angling gets, i once bought a set of wrap sticks, haven't used them more than once way too much palaver
  25. Might want to jam a bit of pva in that gap at the bottom of the lead, i looked at the camotex when they first came out a lot of reviews at the time said they are an easy tangle on the cast and landing?
