  1. Right, bought some 20lb braid mainline, states sinking. Thought I'd check in glass just to see, so snipped a foot off and it doesn't sink! Joy of amazon ay!. Anyway, my question is does anyone know any tricks to sink it? Not back leads! Maybe a solution I can make to soak it in??
  2. Nice yonny old chap. May have to look at one of these
  3. It went above the knot, 3 ft of line was all rubbed and rough. I fish tight against snags, this was an island with a clear spot if around 2ft, hit it first time(lucky) 6 inches from bank. Felt right ya know as soon as I saw it go in, everything separated nicely. Was only out their 30 mins. Ironically it started as my left hand rod cast to a far tree but someone else rocked up so I moved it. Leap frogged my middle and thought that hole looks good. I'm a bit annoyed as I lost 2 that day, one to a hook pull in the pads and this one. I wouldn't of minded but there's some lumps in there, my 3.5tc had very very healthy bend in it and I was pulling like hell but it kept going. Think I may of missed a good one
  4. I need help too, fished near an overhanging tree, got a bite, steamed off on a tight line through the branches. Started getting line back then felt that grating. Fish lost, rig, everything. Was not a happy bunny as bites are hard to come by on there! Any ideas????
  5. It would do, not sun proof. http://bivvybits.co.uk/what-is-hydrostatic-head-rating/
  6. Nothing better when its frosty than doing up all the doors and turning on my heater..........
  7. Ring on hook, look up bank tackle on eBay mate. Dental floss top of other end, boilie slides on. Blob with lighter
  8. Size 20 ring swivel straight on hook bend followed by a stop bud
  9. Or use a swivel on the bend of the hook, held in place with a hook bead
  10. I had an idea once, still in pipeline. Got the boxes made and ready
  11. Stick to what you're confident with. Since I've been fishing loads of rigs came into fashion, chod, multi rig, now Ronnie rig. Keep it simple and tangle free and you've got as much chance as the next guy
  12. I'm not arguing the toss, just saying there's a lot of factors involved and unless you are in there with scooba gear there is nothing to say it didn't land oddly and not sitting right. Yet for some reason the carp still take it.
  13. Have you witnessed this 1st hand chill?
  14. Acids ian Russell uses that pin down stuff which coils over the lead so fish get to swim off then feel the lead
  15. So we really don't know if all this re setting stuff is true then. I can't see it unless it's a solid boom which can't get tangle or looped up(clean bottom)
  16. Just thinking because I've just dropped a rig In the margin and it sticks up. Braid goes all loopy. That's no different to a fish picking u up, swimming towards lead and dropping it
  17. Love the esp tungsten as you know. But how do we really know it resets and doesn't sit weird??
  18. That korda boom stuff could be worth a look, doesnt need steaming, coupled with a soft braided section possible combi rig could be a way forward. Just an idea
  19. I have these. I've had avid, solar and matrix bobbins screwed in fine. hope it helps
  20. Daiwa longbow df in 3.5lb tc. A pure joy play fish on. Slim blank, shrink handle. I went from 2.75 to 3.5 tc. Did notice a stiffer bottom end but for chucking bags, close in work, snag work, they do everything. Tip is everything, you don't want a broom handle!
