  1. Some say the chod rig is more suited to bigger fish, and the withy is similar. Don't know what other people think about the chod and smaller fish
  2. As I say probably just unlucky edit to agree with cm though
  3. What pattern of hook are you using chap? And how big was the fish? You were probably just unlucky though matey
  4. Thanks for that info,no-one wants to see anyones holiday ruined
  5. A siret is a number that must be displayed on the fishery owners website,if they have no siret number displayed then you must always make sure they have one otherwise they are an illegal fishery and if raided you will lose your holiday and all your tackle
  6. Lol,no dogs at dog lane Do you reckon he just wanted to find a use for that old sign he had to take down banning the Easterns ?
  7. Not much help from me I'm afraid but have a good time and welcome to the forum both of you
  8. Welcome to the forum Jack,I'm sure someone will be able to offer some help
  9. . Sorry matey it's not my neck of the woods but the only Thorpe Lea I've heard of is a day ticket not a syndicate. You're right though there are enough waters in that area to last a lifetime
  10. Is there more than one Thorpe Lea? Syndicate?
  11. I just think there could be a risk to other fisheries from these fish which doesn't sit right with me
  12. Welcome to the forum, nice username. I'm sure someone will have been or will know of the place mate
  13. Sure everyone on here will agree it's up to you where you want to fish chap. As far as British 50lb commons go there is definitely one in Burghfield and there will be others elsewhere, maybe a topic for a new thread. Hope you enjoy your session mate
  14. Only joking mate hence the winking smiley Not many busy day ticket lakes without the odd noisy idiot though
  15. . You'd think with only an acre to hide in they'd be used to a bit of noise really
  16. Lol,don't look like my neighbours have appreciated much judging by the letter from the council that dropped through the door this morning, poisonous fruit cake next door.
  17. I haven't used either of the Krankies Others have said they're a good hook though
  18. Again I'd use it for spooky fish in clear water and I'd have to go for the chod style hook cos of the out turned eye. I do like a wide gape and if the fluoro was a stiff one I'd be worried about the gape not being wide enough especially when the rig is out there all day. Plus the coots seem to home in on my hook bait every time as well so I really want the rig to reset itself
  19. Sorry mate I mean it's going to divide opinion because of where the fish came from but that's for another thread, enjoy yourself anyways
  20. Congrats on the new little one matey,Elphics will divide opinion but I'm sure someone will be able to help you out, good luck when you go though.
  21. Lol,it took some finding because I knew the track title and googling wolfsbane brings up no end of stuff
  22. Not much help really mate but there are some cracking looking fish in Farlows as shown on various YouTube vids, reelfishing uk being the best of these
