  1. You won't regret getting the rig marole line it really does seem to tick a lot of boxes , I was fishing semi slack with it the other week on two margin rods & it hung down perfectly with no sign of it wanting to coil , like yonny mentioned I got it in 15lb & can't see any reason for stepping up to 20 lb , think yonny said he might try the 15lb next time . As a side note ..... are you mad yonny 100 + yards think of all the fish your be casting over Buy in confidence Richard it's a quality snag line with out doubt ..... once you get used to the colour
  2. And a fine job you do too mate , always looks spot on
  3. Sounds like a good challenge this lake any chance of a guesty?
  4. This could be all you need to get them looking like new . http://www.cotswoldrods.co.uk/product-category/accessories/
  5. Anyone using these? Thinking maybe yonny has ? Any good?
  6. Definitely mate .... if i tried to load my 2.75 rods for a 150 chuck it would explode during the cast . I have a selection of rods for a reason this being one of them . & unless your casting over ground & measuring your cast your never know your true distance. Hitting the clip doesn't mean your casting the distance wrapped up !
  7. Appears to be the pigment used for the colour This was after one spool .
  8. Did you notice the red residue left in the damp rag after spooling ? Always good to get that factory grime off as it goes on. Sure the colour will be fine lol
  9. Not sure about the colour mate Bedded on well , was hitting the clip at 140 with it yonny, in cross winds so can't moan at that . I can tell it's got the abrasion properties you mentioned too, did a little test & it can take some real abuse before it gives up, Thanks for the heads up That colour though
  10. It's in the post Dean.
  11. Dean ,will post it on Monday . Just logged in to get your address from my pm's . Still can't get on with all this scrolling you have to do now on here .
  12. I'm not paying postage though bud .... that would be taking the mick
  13. no problem mate , what do you prefer.... torrix or hi-s
  14. I take it this is the bit you need Pm me your address & I'll stick it in the post .
  15. What bit is missing fella? I have an old set that haven't seen the light of day for so many years your welcome to the part you need or just have a complete swinger .
  16. interesting Nick , I take it ....it's just to make it up to the thickness required, rather than them have to stock different size seats .
  17. Think i'm wrong with carp rods being two separate sections , was thinking there the same as barbel rods think the modern reel seats just slide down into position. Not sure now lol
  18. Normally reel seats are part of the structure of tge rod ... & is basically where your two sections join ie the butt section & first section of the main rod , obviously not the case with your rods Phil ? Sounds like it's just a sleeve as such over the blank ? Post a pic .
  19. Should be able to get down my field this weekend yonny & give it some stick will report back mate .
  20. Quite a few guys on here that I fish with use the fox supa brolly, & it's a good bit of kit ..... far superior to anything tfg produce . I was looking at a more mobile shelter last year compared to my armo . I narrowed down my choice to the supa brolly or the trakker tempest composite bivvy . Both you can get for around the same money & both are extremely quick up & down . I ended choosing the trakker as you can get a proper winter wrap for it ( with air gap between the skins) unlike brolly systems where it just sits on top & I really don't see the point in . I'm 6ft 5 & find fishing in the composite bivvy fine it's really roomy for such a small footprint because of its flat back . With wrap I honestly would of been happy with the supa brolly but being able to get your bed right up to the back of the trakker & tge proper winter wrap system swung it for me . Used it all of last year in some terrible storms & it's as solid as a rock. The material isn't aquatex like my armo so does suffer more from condensation but the wrap sorts that out in the cold months. Overall very happy with it .
  21. This guy was casting 13ft ers over 200 yards
  22. Wafters fish perfectly fine on a standard knot less knot hair rig , done well for me in the past good hook holds etc.
  23. Just ordered some in 15lb yonny.... thanks for the info . Will get it loaded & give it a good testing down the field Sound mate
  24. morning yonny..... might be interested in this rig marole line you mention. I take it that's without a leader mate ? I'm looking at something to put on my spare spools for shorter range stuff that's better at coping with abrasion etc than my out & out casting line on the other spools . This stuff sounds like it might fit the bill , I was using pro gold but as good as this line is around snags etc it really doesn't cast well at all & having a snag line that you can still go 120 + with in the bag sounds perfect to me .
