  1. Dare I suggest moulding it on the hook , this time of year it should last quite well and still pull through easily. It's not cray proof though
  2. Anyone got the number for the RSPCC?
  3. When mapping using one of these, do you then have a lead about to find the type of bottom you want as well?
  4. Think I live in the Cherwell Valley since it runs through our fair village near its source
  5. It was on CC Moores site, but seems to have been removed from all over. Not sure what went on
  6. This might be worth reading Esmin
  7. Yes you can; although it is time consuming; you can also use the sweetcorn blitzed as your liquid and use powdered egg but it's expensive though. Kindred spirit, I'm liking the thought processes going on there Andy, keep them coming :flags:
  8. Nice to know: Is this regarding the Xplode? I thought that was one of the complaints of using the spomb? (I haven't had a problem with the spomb doing that - only got the small one though - although it is fiddly loading it with wet small particles [should use my hands I suppose ])
  9. Nice fish too Phil, on the old pink pop-ups?
  10. Type colon lol colon Or use the smiley thing, click on the blue right arrow once:
  11. Or companies try to figure out what else can be added that they can sell
  12. Good result Yonny
  13. Should have seen that one :doh!: Although thinking about it, I've walked around Boddington with the dogs a few times and seen plenty of scissor sharpeners
  14. I've got around 8 pairs of scissors of various shapes and sizes strewn throughout my tackle in various bags and boxes used for where they're needed, it's the only way that I've found that I can reliably find a pair when I need them Being the tight wad that I am, (and will also hide under the tree that I hug) I begrudge coughing up £5 when I've already coughed up £5 for a pair of scissors that should be perfectly serviceable. That said, the main reason I want to sharpen them is because even though I've got several pairs, it's always when you just want to snip a tag end or some such (especially braid) and the darn things won't cut it but hack it, with an on-bank sharpener I can rely on being able to sharpen the scissors and snip away to my hearts content It's a shame that I don't drink fizzy drinks often as I would then have a good supply of sharpeners.
  15. That's just brilliant
  16. Carp.com strikes again with a vast range of surprising ways and means Foil and Wool, wow, who'd of thought to cut foil and wool to see if it would sharpen their cutting device
  17. Any recommendations? I've been looking, there's quite a range available; does anyone sharpen scissors or just get new ones?
  18. Have you been talking to my wife? Until very recently, all of my terminal tackle was kept in [empty][clean] ice-cream tubs. I think I was happier with it in those rather than the purpose made tubs I've bought to replace them. I did consider going back to using ice-cream tubs, but they just aren't made the same these days - too flimsy, not very big, unfortunate shapes, lids that don't fit and most are clear (letting sunlight in).
  19. £21 for a bank stick is not going to improve my fishing, in fact I think it would make it worse as I wouldn't want to scratch them or get them muddy or be scared that someone would want to knick them. Worst of all, I might get called a tackle tart
  20. Try to contact them, don't know how much it was, but it should do what you want. Can you send it back?
  21. Pellet waggler, fished pellet waggler style might work. Use one of your lighter rods if you have one, just keep catapulting (or throwing) a few pellets in to get the fish up in the water, fish your hook bait around 1 metre (3ft) deep to begin with and keep adjusting the depth (normally shallowing up) until you find them, 12mm pellets should keep the smaller fish out of the way. It's a fun and very active way of fishing, and you can often see the activity of the fish coming up in the water, do not entertain the idea if wildlife is a problem since you will only train the wildlife to eat all of your bait. Pellet wagglers are short stumpy things so you can fish really shallow. I prefer loaded ones so that the pellet c ocks the float. 6 and 8g cast really well, but if you're using a heavy rod, you might want a slightly heavier one - obviously depending on distance fished.
