Hi guys it's took a while to get round to this but finally got round to it I would just like to share with you what was a fantastic experience and holiday to a truly magical lake (Moorlands Fishery,France).. I started my journey at my mums house saying good bye to my son and mother After a few sad goodbyes to my son i set of on the 40minute drive to Northampton to meet Jamie (coops_northants), When arriving at Jamie's we started to pack the van for the long drive ahead With the van now fully packed we made are way down to Dover in tandem, A couple of hours later we arrive at dover.. At this point the excitement really kicks in and it is apparent everyone's really looking forward to the week ahead After some fun and games leaving lewis asleep on the ferry, Only for him to wake up just in time to get off, We started the long journey through France.. After a few stop's for strong French coffee, And a few speed cameras later we were close to are destination Finally after a good tour around the local village we arrived at the lake for 1st light Friday morning:) As its a 1st come 1st serve at Moorlands, Me and Martin had 1st pick of swims and had a walk around the lake.. In the 1st couple of hours at the lake we had already witnessed a 40 banked, And not being booked on till Saturday we were hoping time would fly by, So we ended up having a early night and much needed sleep.. After a good nights sleep and a fond fair well to the guys on the lake the week before us, We started moving are gear into the swims I choose to spend the 1st few days in the (Oaks swim) And set up home for the first few days!! Time was going buy and the fish started coming out to jamie and lewis at the top end of the lake, By the 3rd day the pressure was on to catch at least one fish, knowing that it would most probably be a PB was a comfort but i was getting more and more frustrated After the decision to leave my spots that i had baited for 3 days, I decided to move down the western arm (Asylum swim) Long story!! I was very motivated at this point and I think I upped my game a little, The water was very cloudy and it was obvious fish were present I wasn't in the swim long when my left hand rod roared off It felt like a huge weight had been lifted of my shoulders, Then to my amazement the middle rod screamed off I couldn't by a bite so far this week, And two come within 30 seconds I shouted for lewis and he ran round to help out, Not knowing what he was letting himself in for Both fish were making a dart to my left far down the western arm... There was no other option The fish were still a long way down the arm so me and lewis had to walk the margin shelf up to are nipples in water By this point we had a large crowed gathering, with all the other lads on the lake coming to see what all the fuss was about!! To mine and Lewis relief the fish started to tire and we slid the block under the 1st eventually followed by the 2nd The 1st was probably one of the smallest in the lake at 17lb But a lovely mirror never the less... The second, Well what a stunner and my French PB off Over 33lb, A stunning golden common carp A nice water shot before the comedy release moment I was very happy with the two fish, Although i doubt any fish were left in the area after all the commotion. I gave it till the next evening and moved into swim number 3 of the week next door to lewis for more of a social and a celebratory drink After a fantastic week and fish coming out more often as the week went on, Even up to the final hours for lewis and Jamie we arrived at the final day Thanks has to be said to all at Moorlands, Keith and family are very friendly and looked after us all very well, Also special thanks to Jamie for inviting me along, And martin for driving (FAST).. And all the lads who went. Tony,Lewis And the Brummie lads. Thanks for reading hope you all enjoyed a piece of my fishing experience at a great venue

Don't think we dropped below 120mph all the way to Moorlands, must of been flashed ten times which we noticed and that was just the speed cameras.. The lorry drivers kept us awake with there horns and lights

Different rig each year Why!!! keep it simple is the best advice, sharp hooks, and a good hooklink material, That blends in to what your fishing on. Don't change for the sake of changing or jump on the chod rig band waggon, Do what works for you and stick with it. By all means fine tune rigs, hook size and patterns etc... good luck Dan
