  3. All your looking to do is to touch it up! your not putting any huge amount of preasure on the hook i hold the file almost parallel to the hook point.
  4. That's two of us that iambum has converted now then! Yes mate i try and learn off everyone i fish with. Iv sharpend my hooks for two seasons now after each cast but only once or twice with the same hook
  5. Thought for a minute you had gone off topic and started to talk about your sex life lewis

I can vouch for that, keiths got a cracking lake with cracking fish and fantastic food and hospitallity also. Would love to go back one day with the boys Thanks for that and you would always be made welcome mate. It would certainly be different now, compared to when you originally came, only the big catfish and big carp left in here now. Thanks for that keith.. My only problem is someone to go with to split the costs etc i would like to come over with my friend so i might start looking at next year fingers crossed, Or see if we can get a french social at the lake with a few members on hear? Now that sounds like a good idea. I tried starting a thread a while ago doug but it didnt take off, Mainley because people had booked up at variouse places already? Would you fancy it doug?

  12. Yes used to fish for carp there a while back very hard lake as the fish stay in the out of bounds area of the lake most of the season. Hooked a pike once when i was realing in my carp rig must of took a likeing to my pinapple pop up? Theres some stunning carp in there but there very difficult to catch
  13. I only use 3 or 4 different hooks in a mixture of sizes, That caters for most situations IMO.. ESP STIFF RIGGER.... In size 6,7 and 8, I use these with mono hooklings as the out turned eye helps the mono sit perfectly and doesnt kick out at an angle. KORDA WIDE GAPE.... In size 8 and 10, I use these with short and coated hooklings, I just think they catch hold quicker than a kurve shank for example in these hooklinks. CURVE SHANKS.... In size 8 and 10, Depending on bait size, I use these for my pop up presentaions. Hope that helps a little
  14. Well done sir
  15. The cider is packed also, the van is ready to make its incredible journey. Leaving in about 2 hours for the ferry and should be fishing by 2 pm I have 120kg of boilies and 50 kg of nutra parr/GLM halibut pellets and 10 kg of maize, that should scare them off for the week........ Catch you all soon, might even manage a little video diary go the place. Just put your hookbait on the top of the pyramid the carp will get to your bait by wednesday-thursday You could start up another bait company with that lot, il ring you later jamie

  21. Only 5.9miles away from me but ive never seen or heard anythink about it Sounds good to me im looking for a mature quiet lake overgrown etc will this tick the box's?
  22. Makins nuneaton?? do you mean wolvey one? if so small 10mm technipops do well fished just of bottom with a shot.. I usally tie a 8inch coated hookling strip back coating just enougth to leave a hinge so to speak at the eye of the hook, placing the shot at the start of the coating. simple 2oz lead fished using lead clip. simples im sure you can get the technopops from lanes on london rd but im gonna try the bang on bait wafters next time as I had a dream session down at sandhurst social. 11 20s 3 upper teens also using them, they sink perfectly under a size 8 hook. And if your from this side of town you can get the full range from rods and reels in hinckley top little shop also.
