This is a map of the lake I've seen fish caught from the drove road side , the snags and also the shallow cut, so that may suggest they aren't feeding in the deep part as much and that has been fished a lot when I've been there, but not sure when I haven't been there I think I would only go for it in the main part of the lake drove road side the rest would be better with some carefully placed traps, we shall see I guess it's never a good idea to plan an attack too much before you get there ,you never know where will be available

Depends on area but 4ft to 11ft there have been some fish holed up in snags which I will check on a walk first but they have been caught from all over though and a few in the shallower area as it warms up from the sun quicker I think, and they do seem to be moving about though as they have been angled for all winter,

It's quite a well stocked pressured water btw fenland fisheries vermuyden lake 200 fish 4 acre lake I mean this does also depend on location there are spots where this may be really silly, but it depends what swims are available when Friday comes so it's something to consider and this may mean the bait is working for me while I get an hour's or twos sleep,

Hi guys I am going for a chuck n sleep after my night shift on Friday I am wondering if it's too early to introduce a bed of bait ? Just thinking about 10 or so spods of pellet corn and boilie bits on one spot to start, I am only going for the day is this a brave approach or dumb ?

I've been looking into rigs this week 360,Ronnie rigs seem new and I've also never used a chod rig , that's led me to wonder if my old rigs will still cut the mustard ? I've started thinking I may need to have a play and fine tune my end game somewhat I shall be looking into this a little more I think,

Sometimes I do wonder if it's worth it,but I do quite enjoy it, I think once I have a mix I am happy with I may get some made up for me though it is quite time consuming,

Freezers are like busses 2 came along at once , I had made an offer on a fridge freezer the other day another buyer bailed so it's mine now, I did have to cancel the other one though , but a bait freezer , bait/beer fridge has more appeal

Good idea might make catapulting or spodding a challenge though

Do people still think for themselves is my thought for the day ? I am selling a punch bag on gumtree at the moment, one of the questions I received was "can I attach this to a tree ?" not the most annoying question but, it got me thinking some people really expect others to do all there homework for them these days, I know when I buy something I have a plan for It and I will research how to make that happen' so for instance If I wanted a punch bag that attached to a tree I would know exactly the right way to do it, Google would probably tell me all i needed to know in 5 minutes, but all too often I will spend my time doing this research only for them to not even respond when I do, either that or the thought of having to spend 5 minutes on google is enough to put most people off, so my point it do people think for themselves or do we expect others to do all our thinking for us these days ??? this could be related back to angling quite easily btw, being new back I am spending quite a lot of time researching/planning at the moment, and for me that is always the fun part, Its the part you can take to work with you, anywhere you have a spare few minutes, for me learning Is the key to success," I may not be successful, but I am learning to be more successful"

I've noticed everyone at the lake I am on seems to be fishing with a slack line these days, I thought that used to be an edge, now it seems common practice

New gun worked well, cleaned up ok and didn't really struggle to make a sausage,I could almost fit a 500g mix in the tube I didn't take any pics though as I was a little pushed for time, but it saved me about £30 on Gardner's pricing , the model I bought is a newborn 620al on eBay for £10.95 plus postage at present, so I hope as it represents value it's ok to mention it,

Nasty coffee and a 16mm nozzle anyone ? I even got the verniers out 16mm +/- 0.1mm inside diameter and linished for a smooth finish, were sausaging all over the world

Just coat some digestives in clear resin cure them and hey presto biscuit bobs are born

I picked up my gun today from the post office only had a quick look but it looks a solid piece of kit and probably very similar to the Gardner ones will do a more detailed review when I get to test it

Got my sonik compact chair have to say it it's pretty good quick up and down feels sturdy and doesn't feel under pressure with my super powered BMI oh yeah i'm well above average

I've been visiting earith a bit lately carp lakes gates are usually open for all and sundry to visit, I also got the impression that most were otter fencing apart from ECL up that way

Just started having a read through some of the posts on here very emotive stuff, it's not something I think I can form an opinion on instantly really other than time is limited for me and probably due to being in East Anglia there is a huge chance they have already got into most lakes in the area, so probably wisest to look at places that have been protected or are looking to be for now

I guess otters are a thing that has changed since I was away as well and also something I have been sort of considering but without really knowing too much, I drove through earith and down the lakes the other week and had a chat to the guys who were putting it up at ashmire, but should you fish somewhere that hasn't got them now ? It's all a bit overwhelming I'm not gonna lie , I feel I have a lot of waters I would want to fish round here some haven't got it, could I be wasting my very limited bank time ?

It's not really a gripe just an observation really something that has changed since I was away, I shall reserve judgement completely till I've been living it again. For a while, and have learnt the finer points

Wotcha Definitely agree on carpcatcher I've spent ages just watching his vids, most of the lakes seem to be near me as well, I am fishing on one of them at the moment, just using a couple of three handfuls, seriously though it's nice to see a real carper and one who isn't afraid to share his story and ideas without the need to stuff products in your face every 10 seconds,

I've spent a while looking at boilie guns and decided the Gardner ones are either not great (plastic) I did own one and it wasn't all that great tbh, or too pricey metal ones, so I've found a cheap caulking gun on eBay with steel tube and I am going to try this they look virtually the same as the others but at a fraction of the cost ? Anyone else done this ? Will let you know how I get on anyway once it arrives,
