  1. Out of interest @Gazlaaar, did you hook them on the same type of rig?
  2. Twins for sure but not identical twins lol.
  3. They're very similar but one has a mouth that is far more over-slung than the other and the lower lateral lines look very different. One is more chesty than the other and one has an area free from scaling above the anal fin.
  4. Imo no. Quite a tricky one tbf.
  5. For sure Smuft, it's just a debate buddy, it's healthy👍 See in open water I don't see that as a problem. I'm sure if I timed myself in the middle of the night I'd exceed it. Imo it's safe
  6. The place looked awesome in Nige's vids @chillfactor. Glad you enjoyed it mate. I've done that too. Not fun lol.
  7. Although there are two kinds of the corn starch ones - taste them - the good'n's taste of pretty much nothing, the bad'n's have a horrible burnt taste!
  8. Same thing mate. There's no such thing as PVA foam - it's just what guys call the corn starch foam.
  9. I think he explains quite clearly in the video something that I've said on here before - that being that carp that don't know they're being fished for are infinitely easier to catch. If that means setting up a 2 or 3 second dash away from the jetty I'd have no problem with it. It's not like he's fishing snags - he's fishing open water. Yes there is weed about but at worst that means he'll lose the fish. It's not like he'll tether it. For me it is safe angling and that is ultimately what counts. I thought it was another brilliant vid from ESP. "For those 2/3 hours at dawn I'm a millionaire". So true.😃
  10. I did a write-up of a session on Stanwick in the catch reports last April but it's not what you guys want to read - it was a nightmare, stuff getting nicked, couldn't get on fish..... it's never normally that bad so I won't post it as it'll put you off!
  11. I could be wrong buddy but I'm pretty sure it just weeded him up.
  12. I think we must be watching a different video geez. He doesn't let the fish get to a snag. The fish weeds him up half way through the fight. This is what happens on weedy waters. It happens to me all the time. Usually you can get them out. Sometimes you can't. Part and parcel of fishing proper carp waters imo.
  13. Bowler is one of the greatest anglers of our generation. He knows what he's doing and I'm not going to question his methods.
  14. I think we should put it to the rotary!
  15. See, you can always count on good advice here @Stoney!!!
  16. Based on the decent syndi's I've been a member of and the waiting lists I'm on I'd say 600 is about average nowadays buddy, maybe just less than average!☹️
  17. No idea mate but Monster Munch are well nice, especially Flamin' Hot flavour!😋
  18. Great lake for a bit of action buddy. Find some fish (not hard, it's only a little water) and bait a spot. Plenty of clear areas towards the middle. Put two rigs on it and await the action. If that doesn't work switch to zigs. Keep your eyes on the margins too. Some swims are very close together so three rods can be too much imo. A third rod chucked down the edge can't hurt though. Careful of the marginal weed though. The swims either side of the reeds in the north east corner tend to be fantastic but they can all do hits tbh. The bank on the west side is particularly good in the margins when it's warm. The trickiest bit is getting on the fish when it's busy but there's always a chance.
  19. @The Compleat Angler...... I agree with your observations!
  20. Me too. Light, cheap, decent. I wouldn't go so far as to to say regularly but I've done the odd session there (at least once a year) for years now. What do you want to know buddy?
  21. Perfect. It's not all about catching fish eh Rob. Sounds awesome mate.
  22. Reuben Heaton dial scales. All day.
