  1. Then there’s this site ? https://www.kpspares.co.uk/chubspares-old.html gut luck
  2. I know it’s not what you want to hear but you may have to bite the bullet here and she’ll out the £40… Mine were supplied by Chub which has now been taken over , I think , by whatever company owns Greys , JRC etc . Which is ironic as they are handy when using my STI and yet no longer seem to be available. There , my friend, it looks like second hand sites or Faceache groups will be your best bet . Dont ask you don’t get , you never know .
  3. Haha the Cyborx could’ve hacked it but Steve don’t do camping lol
  4. Nick knows what everybody looks like 😊 Actually do you remember Cyborx ? well one of the bailiffs at my new place is a dead ringer for him . No sign of the CarpMachine yet though 🤣
  5. Thanks for posting these pics Frank , looks wonderful & tranquil there . Could almost be Canada or similar. Great Stuff.
  6. Just a quickie to say that if anyone is in the market for a newie , Cyprinus have a half price-ish sale on a lotta shelters tonight inc a one man Bivvy for less than a ton . just saying 😊
  7. Ok so I’ve got just under a fortnight to work out a strategy of sorts . Swim choice won’t be a problem by the looks of things and for the first time in my Carp fishing life it looks like I’m going to be able to actually walk the lake and pick a location accordingly . Its going to be a completely different ball game learning a new water , it’s really quite exciting in a way . Trying to find and target the large-r fish and trying to avoid the pasties . Of which apparently there are a LOT.
  8. Thanks for the heads up Nick I’ll be careful . I doubt mine will get the same punishment yours does . I must admit the 50 butt ring is a bit of a pain to get into it’s rod sleeve . I tend to be careful with it in transit and keep it seperate from my other rods . Damned if I’m going to shell out for a bigger rod sleeve though . Que sera sera and all that…
  9. Well I’m in 😄 just got to get the cash and a couple of passport type photos by tomorrow morning and I’m sorted 🙄. Dunno why but I thought I’d be able to pay by bank transfer…. Still I’m going to have to get my butt over there first thing tomorrow as I’m working afterwards and can’t chance them holding the offer open to next weekend, I wouldn’t . Anyway it’s right up my street , 4 acres , next to no weed but plenty of features and very rarely more than 5 anglers on at any one time . Even less doing overnighters . known Carp to over 30 and 4 more between 25-29 stocked last year that haven’t been out yet . A few silly rules admittedly such as having to use their nets and cradles and a Barbless only rule but apart from that the rules are mostly sensible with the fish being their top priority so mustn’t grumble strictly no u18’s even supervised so that won’t please my young un which is sad but you can drive literally up to the banks which is quality . There is a freezer full of bait over there at £7 a kilo if I was that way inclined but I won’t be as I have an irrational hatred of the company. I won’t mention the name as the owner of said bait company is a member though I believe he is unwell at the moment . All in all I can’t wait to get cracking and planning a 48hr sesh in two weekends time Happy days .
  10. Sonik or TFT ? cos my experience recently with tft was and still is a nightmare. As for Sonik , I remember when they first appeared a few years ago they got rave reviews all over the shop but all I’ve read recently is negative stuff . Nick has experience of their rods fallling to pieces, your experiences with their shelters speak for themselves unfortunately and even their Bivvy tables , one of which I own , I can tell ya are cheap and nasty . Quite frankly I’ll be adding them to Korda and Mainline on my ‘avoid at all costs’ list albeit for different reasons . I so hope you can get your shelter sorted out mate 🤞🏻
  11. That’s convinced me that they’ll replace it Sonik can do without any bad press and if it was me I’d be coating ‘em all over the internet. just don’t use total fishing tackle 😊
  12. Nick how are these on your back mate ? I was hoping my spending was over but thinking about it now , having read this thread , my JRC defender chair nearly crippled me last time out and sitting on my bedchair was even worse . Ian , if you see this same question re the Daddy long legs . It’s very expensive but it would be worth it if it did the trick . I really need to be sitting upright in both cases fellas .
  13. Gutted for you mate . They should replace that I reckon , let’s hope they don’t try the ole ‘that’s what the wraps for’ chestnut. They don’t come cheap those things .
  14. Well I’m not counting me Chickens … unless it’s the one that sits on a football . That wouldn’t please me at all 🤣 Anybody got any tips as I’m sure I’ll be out on my ear if he meets the real me ?
  15. I worked for Parcelforce (and before that RM Parcels) for 15 years . things must have improved 🤣
  16. A few weeks ago I made a few enquiries to some local syndicate lakes , thinking you’ve got to be in it to win it . Silence … not a sausage . Then out of the blue got an email and a phone call . Im meeting the fella early tomorrow morning and he’s taking me for a walk round the lake & facilities . 🤞🏻for me fellas , I gotta get out of this day ticket circus .
  17. Total fishing tackle were open . But I don’t recommend’em 🙄
  18. Sorry Fred I can’t help you with that being a soft southerner , but I can welcome you to the forum 👍🏻
  19. I have one of these type stoves that Halfords sell , I think they’re great . mine came with a griddle/hot plate that fits on the top to fry up me sausies & bacon etc and along with my Ridgemonkey toastier thingy does me fine . much better than those Coleman type stoves .
  20. Oh right ok 😊 I bet you’ll all have a great time . I’ve broached the subject at home once or twice over the years but just get the look and a growl or two 🤣
  21. I take it you’ve never owned either Shimmy’s or Daiwa’s previously ? In my experience people tend to like one or the other …. mMust be difficult to choose if you never owned either . If you had there wouldn’t be a contest .
  22. Thank you mate , I think after a while we go onto autopilot and our experience kicks in so we just get on with it .
  23. Yes of course but I do need to get myself more organised. As for clubs , yes there’s Billericay DAC which has loads of lakes and river stretches but very few that permit night fishing and with work commitments and transport issues day sessions are not much good to me tbh , it’ll be weekends which unfortunately is mostly the problem. Ive got myself on the waiting list for a local club/syndicate which has a 4 year waiting list and I’ve emailed several membership only lakes in Thurrock enquiring but as yet haven’t had any sort of reply . Im thinking of going further afield (Chelmsford way) but don’t want to go all that way on a Friday pm and find its chocka block like last weekend . it’s a dilemma.
