Sounds very familiar Elmo š Oh yes mate the whip is most definitely the way to go . My Arthritic digits really appreciated his ready made rigs . Seriously .

Never heard of it before but yes , good site I feel šš»
-
Then thereās this site ? https://www.kpspares.co.uk/chubspares-old.html gut luck
-
I know itās not what you want to hear but you may have to bite the bullet here and sheāll out the Ā£40⦠Mine were supplied by Chub which has now been taken over , I think , by whatever company owns Greys , JRC etc . Which is ironic as they are handy when using my STI and yet no longer seem to be available. There , my friend, it looks like second hand sites or Faceache groups will be your best bet . Dont ask you donāt get , you never know .

Haha the Cyborx couldāve hacked it but Steve donāt do camping lol
-
Nick knows what everybody looks like š Actually do you remember Cyborx ? well one of the bailiffs at my new place is a dead ringer for him . No sign of the CarpMachine yet though š¤£

Thanks for posting these pics Frank , looks wonderful & tranquil there . Could almost be Canada or similar. Great Stuff.

Just a quickie to say that if anyone is in the market for a newie , Cyprinus have a half price-ish sale on a lotta shelters tonight inc a one man Bivvy for less than a ton . just saying š

Ok so Iāve got just under a fortnight to work out a strategy of sorts . Swim choice wonāt be a problem by the looks of things and for the first time in my Carp fishing life it looks like Iām going to be able to actually walk the lake and pick a location accordingly . Its going to be a completely different ball game learning a new water , itās really quite exciting in a way . Trying to find and target the large-r fish and trying to avoid the pasties . Of which apparently there are a LOT.

Thanks for the heads up Nick Iāll be careful . I doubt mine will get the same punishment yours does . I must admit the 50 butt ring is a bit of a pain to get into itās rod sleeve . I tend to be careful with it in transit and keep it seperate from my other rods . Damned if Iām going to shell out for a bigger rod sleeve though . Que sera sera and all thatā¦

Well Iām in š just got to get the cash and a couple of passport type photos by tomorrow morning and Iām sorted š. Dunno why but I thought Iād be able to pay by bank transferā¦. Still Iām going to have to get my butt over there first thing tomorrow as Iām working afterwards and canāt chance them holding the offer open to next weekend, I wouldnāt . Anyway itās right up my street , 4 acres , next to no weed but plenty of features and very rarely more than 5 anglers on at any one time . Even less doing overnighters . known Carp to over 30 and 4 more between 25-29 stocked last year that havenāt been out yet . A few silly rules admittedly such as having to use their nets and cradles and a Barbless only rule but apart from that the rules are mostly sensible with the fish being their top priority so mustnāt grumble strictly no u18ās even supervised so that wonāt please my young un which is sad but you can drive literally up to the banks which is quality . There is a freezer full of bait over there at Ā£7 a kilo if I was that way inclined but I wonāt be as I have an irrational hatred of the company. I wonāt mention the name as the owner of said bait company is a member though I believe he is unwell at the moment . All in all I canāt wait to get cracking and planning a 48hr sesh in two weekends time Happy days .

Sonik or TFT ? cos my experience recently with tft was and still is a nightmare. As for Sonik , I remember when they first appeared a few years ago they got rave reviews all over the shop but all Iāve read recently is negative stuff . Nick has experience of their rods fallling to pieces, your experiences with their shelters speak for themselves unfortunately and even their Bivvy tables , one of which I own , I can tell ya are cheap and nasty . Quite frankly Iāll be adding them to Korda and Mainline on my āavoid at all costsā list albeit for different reasons . I so hope you can get your shelter sorted out mate š¤š»
-
Thatās convinced me that theyāll replace it Sonik can do without any bad press and if it was me Iād be coating āem all over the internet. just donāt use total fishing tackle š

Nick how are these on your back mate ? I was hoping my spending was over but thinking about it now , having read this thread , my JRC defender chair nearly crippled me last time out and sitting on my bedchair was even worse . Ian , if you see this same question re the Daddy long legs . Itās very expensive but it would be worth it if it did the trick . I really need to be sitting upright in both cases fellas .
-
Gutted for you mate . They should replace that I reckon , letās hope they donāt try the ole āthatās what the wraps forā chestnut. They donāt come cheap those things .
-
Well Iām not counting me Chickens ⦠unless itās the one that sits on a football . That wouldnāt please me at all 𤣠Anybody got any tips as Iām sure Iāll be out on my ear if he meets the real me ?

A few weeks ago I made a few enquiries to some local syndicate lakes , thinking youāve got to be in it to win it . Silence ⦠not a sausage . Then out of the blue got an email and a phone call . Im meeting the fella early tomorrow morning and heās taking me for a walk round the lake & facilities . š¤š»for me fellas , I gotta get out of this day ticket circus .
-
Total fishing tackle were open . But I donāt recommendāem š
-
Sorry Fred I canāt help you with that being a soft southerner , but I can welcome you to the forum šš»

I have one of these type stoves that Halfords sell , I think theyāre great . mine came with a griddle/hot plate that fits on the top to fry up me sausies & bacon etc and along with my Ridgemonkey toastier thingy does me fine . much better than those Coleman type stoves .
-
Have you used it yet Phil ?

I take it youāve never owned either Shimmyās or Daiwaās previously ? In my experience people tend to like one or the other ā¦. mMust be difficult to choose if you never owned either . If you had there wouldnāt be a contest .
