  1. now that sounds pukka, what if i was to use the 'chod' as its now called? with the short curved hooklink and a pop up?
  2. sorry some little tips, dont worry too much about marker work, you can and you might find some nice features but your better off looking for fish and casting to them and baiting these areas as its mainly silt, thi also means lightest leads as possible
  3. absolutely cracking little place to fish mate, went there last june and just thought it was amazing, i unfortunatley wasnt fishing properly but fish well and youll be well in
  4. hi guys id like to recieve some advice on a very special water, not after the whole what baits where to fish blurb just want general info on backup fish and pressure etc etc . . . thanks very much by the way, the water is burghfield
  5. it varys between rigs, some will snap by the hook, some by the knot and a couple of occasions just smack in the middle . . . try drennan sinklink, cheaper as well
  6. nope and dont use it either mate . . . . it WILL snap on you
  7. from reading the post its not tangles that are the problem, unless i read wrong, perhaps try a heavier style hook, or a shape where the weight is more on the point of the hook like a curve shank???
  8. im not sure how a running rig would make it more dangerous?? i have the stuff in my box but guess what . . . never used it haha
  9. but you say that the lake im off to in a week is 19 acres but according to the lake owner the fish respond better to small boilie only baiting, and recons that just over 5kilo of boilie will last us a week, im not doubting him because the lake has produced 6 different 50's this year already all to the same bait i was planning on taking in the first place, i am still taking a 20kilo sack of pellet tho ill prebait a different swim further down the lake and keep my eyes on it
  10. have a look in teh french catch reports theres a massive write up about the place
  11. ahh so anything that is allready curved or turnt inwards is classed as a 'bent' hook rig
  12. sorry but im still confused lol, ive only just started to use curve shank hooks ive allways used long shanks or wide gapes so im still not sure what the difference is between a nailer styl hook and a curve and whihc makes more damage and whihc is classed as what?? sorry not much sleep last night leaves me a bit blank
  13. does it include hooks like the esp or korda curve shanks???
  14. yes these would classify as a fixed lead, why?? because the lead is fixed and unable to move up/down the mainline, the hooklink can move but not the lead.

    lead core

look at how thick leadcore is and your mainline, which will stand out more?? look at the breaking strain difference, which will snap and which wont?? why not just use a flying backlead on your mainline and fish a semi slack line?

    lead core

sorry to be a pain but do you REALLY need to use leadcore?
  17. more like how the hell do you leave it next to a motorway
  18. you guys should read all the posts, these hooks have already been advised but he is from the usa and may not have all the acces to quality carp gear we have
  19. could't agree more, i buy magz doesn't mean i read the technical bits tho, i like to rad whats happening in the other realms of the country that i dont know about, like last month i read that a 30lb carp was found dead alongside a motorway but none of the local lakes recognised it!!! poachers? illegal stocking but the fish died before it got any where??? who knows
