  1. errrm check out the adverts along the top for starters.
  2. Hello saddler I googled it and got lots of stuff, give Judy a call on the number. It looks a nice place and I would start with corn and meat in the margins after a match.
  3. probably called mosworth ice rink at the moment....
  4. MMMM gives me an idea: we use plastic imitation baits a bit nowadays so I wonder if I could get away with a plastic bath duck fished as a pop up. what do you reckon?
  5. I have been subject to similar action whilst visiting the fishery. I was a bit gobsmacked to be honest and fortunately I had'nt even started fishing so I asked for my day ticket money back and left. I hadnt even got 10 minutes up the road when a friend rang me and asked what happened. It seems they had clocked my polo shirt fishing website embroidery and upon checking the diary realised that a dozen of us were due to fish it the next weekend for a social and had rang the organiser because they feared we would cancel the booking. I never returned but they were nice as pie to the rest of the forum apparently.
  6. They are both BW waters arnt they? If you look on the Naseby resi website and give Harry the bailiff there a call he should be able to tell you. I think he also does the tickets at Welford. Sulby as I understand is a syndicate water.
  7. So far the biggest this year is my 21 nah I dont know I will ask at the weekend
  8. I was at lakeside a few weeks ago and there were only 6 anglers on the saturday and a few more on the sunday, it wasnt crammed and I managed a 21 as well on the sunday morning. The easy access bank gets more activity than the blair witch woods bank. Noel should be back from his hols now so I reckon the amount of anglers going down for a freebie session will have reduced.
  9. is that the one on the left hand side just after a really dodgy bend in the village? If it is I fished it once several years ago when I was stationed at Bicester from what I can remember it was pants. There are better venues to try.
  10. If you can get on B1 or B2 that is!! Midweek shouldnt be a problem but at the weekend its a different story. Saturday morning gate opening is like the start of a grand prix.
  11. Its been taken over by new owners and they have spent a lot of time and effort making the venue a whole lot safer to fish, platforms, hard tracks etc. Im not 100% sure about there still being catfish in there but there are a fair few carp left in there. The venue also has crayfish. Its not really a venue for lots of anglers with three rods each but it is a pleasant venue with a chance of some decent carp. My biggest from there is 22lb but ive seen bigger.
  12. I had one of those and there is nowt wrong with them. The fish dont care what your sleeping in do they? I donated mine to a young lad just starting carp fishing and he thinks its great. It will only get used three or four times a year.
  13. you could try Blythe waters. see other thread for hints and tiPs
  14. Hiya Ive fished at some of them Riddings speci lake is a tad expensive for what it is however the whole complex is a well run and pleasant venue to fish at, the main lake has regular matches if thats your thing, however im guessing you dont as you asked about the speci lake. It is very coloured and I would suggest using a high flavour bait so the fish have something to home in on. Kingsbury water park has several lakes and they are all different, driving onto the complex is the hardest part as I found the paths a bit of a maze. Drayton Reservoir is a very popular place but you need to go midweek or get there very very early at the weekends in order to get parked. All methods will work here. whereabouts are you based? as im guessing that Drayton resi is a bit of a drive and if you are going to bother driving to there then there are similar venues around, Clattercoate, Boddington, Naseby and Stockton for example.
  15. Gary is this post in conjunction with the Hertfordshire social ? if so shouldnt it be part of that thread otherwise you will end up with peeps missing stuff because its on different threads. If not then Ill shut up lol...
  16. Merrington, ive been to the others lol.
  17. OK Cheesy nips and careful carper your mates were quite correct. I was there again this evening and the bailiff walked past me so I asked. Last week they had some roach die and the EA came out and took them all away for tests and couldnt find anything. The bailiff reckoned about a thousand died between 2 lb and a few ounces. The carp and Pike have not been affected and whilst I was there I watched two gentlemen bring in a dozen each all in good condition. There were absolutely thousands of dog biscuits and smaller floating pellets in the corner where the wind had blown them, so its made me think about surface baits not being very effective. I havent actually fished Drayton before so I might give it a go one evening.
  18. I popped in on my way home yesterday evening and there wasnt any in sight at all, the anglers fishing along the dam wall hadnt seen any either. I was going to find the bayleaf and ask but thought better of it...
  19. if your going to stick with what your already using then why ask the question? experiment a little, there will be lots of answers by this evening, just cherry pick those that you like and give them a try when your next out.
  20. use the one you have most confidence in. Corn is quite universal and can be used with lots of different rigs, it just depends on the style your using at the time. If I was fishing Genesis for example I would change from corn to Maize and fish it on a long hooklength of strong mono with two bits on a long hair and spod more maize over the top. If I was fishing a smallish lake in England I would just stick it in the margins on a short hooklength with two bits impaled directly on the hook (just like the old days) with a handfull over the top.
  21. I dont think Neil was replying, merely reposting Aarons question into the correct thread. Drayton seems to remain very popular, I drive past it on my way to work and I sometimes go for a wander round on my way home. The pole anglers have long gone, to be succeeded by the pellet waggler anglers and the method feeder and spodders. I have seen some quite big fish come out during the evenings and im guessing that they have just become too big to tackle with a pole as a result the mouth damage seems to be on the decline. It is bailiffed very well now and even the rubbish is in decline, they just need to sort out more than one portaloo, and perhaps borrow some of the factory units car parks for the weekenders then it would be better.
