  1. Something to look forward too
  2. Yes I was and it's the first time in my 17yrs of fishing I've fisnished a session the day before I was planning to. Still these things have to be tried.
  3. If,and I say if,ever the water is netted and the small fry removed it might start fishing well. It's a nice enough water but not run very well. When you read the website it looks and sounds great, but what a disappointment.
  4. Try hookedonfrance as well.
  5. Helpful tip of the week goes to Giles07 And a very good tip, if you want a cup of tea and a biscuit
  6. Is there such a thing as a rig that hasn't already been invented and used? Be interesting to see it and compare.
  7. Different countries.....different laws. Some waters in France don't allow night fishing.Having said that, there are waters in the UK that won't allow night fishing either.
  8. You will not regret going to Rusheslake.Fantastic venue, non stop action with the fishing, excellent hosts and excellent food package. I fished there last year and will be back next year.As i say you won't regret it, Kim and Iain will make sure of that. I haven't heard or read any bad reviews on Rusheslake and all who have fished there want to go back.
  9. Just like the lake lol Has Lee still got the place?
  10. There is a Hooked in France forum but it looks dead,no info what so ever for quite a while now.
  11. Have a read of this,it might help http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/Carp-Fishing-Articles/carp_Fishing_in_Weed.html
  12. How thick is the weed and what sort is it?
  13. Went to Evesham Vale weekend before last with a couple of mates.1st time there and the last. Was going to be a 48hr session but we pulled out on Sat.As previously said, the place has thousands of small carp up to 6ins.Advertised as having 1000 carp from mid doubles to 20lb+.Out of all the anglers there only 2 carp caught were small doubles, all the rest were carp up to around the 6lb mark.£40 for 48hrs to catch fish no bigger than 6lb,no thanks and never again. I don't think i have ever cut short a fishing session before but on this occasion i was glad to leave. The bailiff did have a good sense of humour though, telling my mate that the small fry had caused the bigger fish to loose weight. We weren't laughing. I might add that the bailiff seemed a decent bloke, after all,he only looks after the place and doesn't own it.
  14. And what fish are where?....Could be interesting
  15. If you don't want to book direct with a lake owner i would go to a reputable company like Angling Lines or Hooked on France. You can trust them.Read other forums mate and find out who you can or can't trust when it comes to booking a fishing holiday through a company.
  16. Never had a problem with the grinner knot
  17. I've lost fish in the past which i am conviced was down to using normal backleads.I tend to use flying backleads most of the time now.
  18. There aren't many rigs around that haven't been used many years ago. They just reappear as a different name.
  19. I was told and i say again TOLD that trading standards were investigating complaints about the fishery. When i fished there at a social 1 fish out all weekend out of 20 anglers. When i got home later on the Sunday i phoned up and asked how the place was fishing[making out i was going to fish there lol].The person i spoke to said yes its fishing well and the place was packed this weekend.I said oh right how do you call 1 fish caught in 48hrs between 20 anglers, fishing well.At that point the phone went dead.If you want a good weekend camping then Merrington is the place.
  20. I think he was going to stock 200 simmo fish this month. Why i don't know there is already supposed to be a stock of 200 good fish in there.I did 2 48hr sessions and blanked. The owner of that lake is just a lier and full off bullsh1t.20 anglers doing 48hrs and 1 fish caught surely says it all.Even the session i did a couple of weeks prior there was 8 of us on there and only a couple of fish out. Nice lake tho and has the potential, but not with simmos in their.
  21. Why confuse the Issue and Make Life Harder than you need to? Why indeed......simplicity works very well. The only thing i change is length of hooklength and or hair. Works for me and that's all that counts
  22. And use good quality sharp hooks, for any rig.
  23. 16 yrs fishing and always kept things simple.Had some good fish in the UK and in France.
  24. If you are going to use the method you can expect any fish in the lake to get on your bait, that is unless there are only carp present.
  25. I'll get my Mrs to cook them 1st,then they're guaranteed to stay on the hair
