  1. Post of the month. If i were a teacher, you'd get a gold star for that post.
  2. Fished there a few years ago. Lots of single figure carp, lots of noise from the other pools & floodlights It was cheap though.
  3. Leighton Pool may suit you. It is weedy, but should be ok at this time of year.
  4. You started this thread almost 2 years ago. Have you done any leg work on the lake in that time?

Hate to tell you this armadaw but I am almost certain that fishing a pop up at that depth, within a couple of hours that pop up will not be popping up any more and will be lying hard on the deck. A few years ago I did some experiments whilst diving a lake. I set various types of pop ups at various depths, down to around 15/16 feet and the results shocked me. At around 15 feet after 3 hours every pop up at that depth was sitting hard on the deck.So in 20 feet of water I would think you would be lucky to get 2 hours before that bait is sitting hard on the deck. Would a corkball pop up get around this problem?
  6. I don't think a book about aspiring to be a gentleman is for me. I read whilst sat on the loo. I suspect i'm beyond help.
  7. There's a blast from the past. I fished there a few times, many years ago. If it's still the same, then avoid the place. All the fish i saw were mutants, their mouths had been ripped to pieces by bad angling & a total lack of care for the fish.
  8. But i'm a moderator, that's my job All i did was question your original post. Your facts were very misleading. No need to get shouty about it Shall we get back to the thread now?
  9. Yes, much better. Both of those are now believable. Can you really not see how misleading your first post was? Tell you what, you keep your shirt on & i'll keep my hat on.
  10. I haven't heard of either of them, let alone fished them. If you say carp from, then that means bottom weight. What else can it mean? "Carp from 20lb, except for all the ones that are smaller" ????
  11. Moorgreen res doesn't have carp below 20lb? Colwick has upto 300 carp over 20lb? Sorry, but i don't believe it for a minute.
  12. Rig Marole Freefall lead clips. Guaranteed to dump the lead on the take
  13. If you know who the owner is, ask him for permission. A polite & well written letter can often do the trick. Got to be worth a try?
  14. If either of those statistics are true, i'll eat my hat.
  15. Does the link not work ?? Don't no thats what im trying to find out ,didn't see any carp when i walked around it The link works for me 666carpcatcher (Brian) may know, he's from around that area.
  16. What type of lake/challenge are you looking for & where do you usually go?
  17. Avoid it just fished it 24hrs had one take and it was a small tench, was told there is only 60 fish in there, nice senery but thats about it!! That don't make no good, does it??? No its a joke!!! Nice scenery & low stock? Sounds like a good start to me.
  18. From the Rig tying sticky http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=42729
  19. There isn't a list of rules on that website. Can you night fish, use barbed hooks?
  20. Make sure you use a hook with a inturned point. This will help to stop it from going blunt on the lake bed.
  21. An old rig with a new name?
  22. Did the camera man turn to stone after taking that shot? As for Field Aston, although it now has a few 30s in, i wouldn't bother. It's a bleak, barren, hole in the ground. The fish were easy to catch, but i woke up every morning wishing i were somewhere else.
