  1. Popped along to this venue early Sunday morning 7am only to find it rammed ! Very scruffy looking place with the ground riddled with goose 💩everywhere ! Not my idea of a days fishing so I left and I won’t try here again Might be ok but just not for me
  2. Just ordered the Solar Undercover Medium carryall for my gear ÂŁ38 for decent branded bag
  3. The line lay is superb so I’m very pleased
  4. My new reels turned up and first I thought they were faulty as the bail arm is manual return only ! Is this a common feature in big reels I think it’s to prevent the bail arm closing in error on the cast and reducing line twist
  5. Yes I have read good things about those Okuma Reels I had the old Interceptors years ago and they were great reels Whats the quick drag like on them ?
  6. Decided to change my reels and go back to QD instead of baitrunner Anyone using these Daiwa reels and how do you rate them ? Daiwa 20 Crosscast Reel 35 SCW 5000C QD
  7. I had a cheap NGT brolly ( it was rubbish ) Seems like you need to spend ÂŁ70 - ÂŁ80 for a decent day shelter brolly I did have the AD Advanta Flatback brolly which was cheap but it was ok and a lacked space underneath. The Korum is worth it I feel
  8. Took me a while finding one at a sensible ÂŁ80 ish price Packs away small and fits rod hold-all Easy to pop up and take down Its a bit like my old Fox Specialist Brolly similar size and features
  9. Just had the Korum delivered as a day session brolly and I’m very pleased with it. Sensible size and weight and plenty of pegging points and storm caps too. This is replacing the Trakker 60” brolly that went back as it was huge in comparison!
  10. If I wanted to drive over and have a look at swims where would you suggest I park and look at first ?
  11. Just been reading about Alton and season ticket. I googled mapped it and saw the car parks etc How safe is it where car parks are ( any trouble ) and approx walk to a swim ? How busy does it get on Fridays ? Is it an impossible venue to catch as a day angler ?
  12. I like Hinderclay and have fished it before. Thorpe Abbots is another place ( off the A143 ) Alton Water hasn’t been on my radar not sure why ? Might be size of water and access for parking near your swim etc ? I will soon be fishing Fridays so hopefully places will be quieter compared to a weekend etc Thanks for the advice
  13. My plans for venues are still work in progress but yes it will be mostly Suffolk or South Norfolk area Looking for a good day ticket place for Fridays as I only work 4 days now I know the more obvious places but looking for less pressured and lakes that are a decent size
  14. Just put 12lb Daiwa Sensor brown back on my reels removing 15lb sensor 12lb just seems a better line choice and I don’t see the need for 15lb for the local lakes I fish. Whats your preferred B.S line and are you still fishing 12lb ?
  15. Hey folks I’ve been off the scene fishing for some time but I’m back and getting back into day session carp angling Now based in Needham Market and looking to get out to various day ticket venues. Good to see Nick is still here as I recall he gave me so much great advice and tips for Suffolk venues
