This is a tricky one to respond to. When I lived in Surrey - many years ago - there were 3 main tackle shops I used to visit and buy stuff from. KC Angling (Sutton): Long gone now and a very big help to me when as a Junior and match fished with LDAS club, Kenny Collins an absolute legend for help and advice, and also an England International Steve Gardner worked there too. Used to buy my Casters, maggots and hemp on a Saturday ready for fishing on Sunday. Gerrys of Wimbledon: An iconic shop, stocked everything at the time anyone could possibly want, prices were always top rate but the help advice was always great, I believe it has now been sold and a furniture store now? RoseHill Angling: Very small local shop, long since gone However: Cheam Angling: Still going strong I believe and moved across the road from it's tiny shop I remember it was. Do I use tackle shops? Very rarely now as tbh I don't need any more rods / reels / nets / alarms etc. I might nip in my local shop very rarely for hooks and a bit of a moan but obviously that won't keep them in buisness. It really needs a good web site, socials etc to keep the on street shops going I suspect? Having said that, Flea Bay, Amazon and a Google search brings up so many options for buying fishing stuff now

No digital stuff in those days as you know, I do have a few more but seems hard to believe now but a 'roll of film' only had 24 or 36 pics to take, oh and the wait to get them back from boots! 😃

Yes it was, there were a few others in the South too - now closed Bury Hill springs to mind - 'any method Trout fishing' 😂 At that time the South West didn't have a close season I remember?

Early 90's again, at the time a working gravel pit very close to M25, remember Concorde used to pass overhead.... Noisy [censored]! 😃

Early 90's Broadlands lake

I went to club lake early morning today, had a few mid doubles close in under an overhanging tree, and one mid water too. By 12 o'clock was far too hot so packed up but enjoyed the fishing. Just a small thing tho, my Atts remote packed up mid session, tried to replace it with a Duracell AA rechargeable battery, blooming thing is actually slightly larger than a normal one so didn't fit!!☹️ Didn't stop me having a good day tho 👍 Take care in this heat all.

Not really mate, Remember fishing a lake on M25, near Wraysbury, back in the day, lots of old fish , and not known at the time. Sorry I didn't check catch reports from 2024 ,

As @salokcinnodrog said, never heard of them, but tbh have zero interest in yet another person selling £20 plus tubs of hookbaits 😂 One thing the bloke might have to really take into account is that these Tubs seem to be popping up - no pun inteaded - so many times now. As for catch reports, I very much doubt anyone on here has been to Gigantica 😂, Wraysbury.... etc etc @greekskii, you might choke on your keyboard, but have to say a certain bait bloke, once again I am not a Troll, has deff got the market for this stuff sown up as far as I can see, shame he never actually did a book about his early days carp fishing. I would have bought it 👍 So @Asterman, not sure if you are on here to promote the stuff, guessing you won't get much luck tbh?

Don't do faceache, ticktop or whatever mate, As for 'next level' you cannot be serious really? A bait boat with GPS etc maybe a camera now? ,all avaiable here for people who feel inclined to splash out dosh on that stuff,....... Drones etc etc Sorry you think traditional fishing is actually dated, it's actually what I like doing and probably many on here too? 👍 Each to his / her own though

Actually mate, Maybe criticism is constructive? Maybe you have also taken the temp of your lead weight? ---- who knows 😂 Maybe I am just to old and actually laugh at these over thinking posts. As for 'Newbie' "I use a bait boat to locate my swim and save the position as Spot A. I set up my rod pod with the three-point alignment method: rod pod, bait boat and a marker on the opposite bank. I put the largest quantity of bait at Spot A, and place one rod on each side of the rod pod with only a small amount of supplementary bait. What is the reasonable range for this whole setup? Are there any improvements I can make to my current baiting method?My bait boat has significant GPS error, and waves also stop it from staying in a fixed position. Should I use line stops to precisely control the line length from my reel? I’ve noticed some anglers use rangefinders and laser pointers to get accurate distance and angle for the bait boat. Of course it is it, obviously, but..... what next? What hook size, what bait? Think it might be more interesting if this guy actually explained the waters he is actually fishing tho tbh! Sadly no info on any of that, just more questions that seem to be a bit boring, doesn't give any details of anywhere that is being fished, that's my problem. If he is really in Asia, could probably share some good information on fishing there..... I suspect not though ☹️ Hopefully proved wrong 🤞

I remember those days mate, "You can add these liquids to your spod mix, your particles, your powdered groundbait, your pellets." Agree with the groundbait, maybe glugging air dried boilies too, if anyone ever does that now? Tbh, otherwise a waste of time and effort...... Tin hat on! 👍

Not always like that Ian, A fantastic swim for floater fishing back in the day, before flying rats arrived 👍 Just if anyone is actually interested, back then it was an early fox bed chair, think an Argos sleeping bag and a blanket on top...... did me ok at the time 😟

Based in West Sussex mate, My main venue now is a certain group of club lakes off A27, have to say it's not what it used to be ...... sign of the times I guess, lovely big beds of pads ripped out and slowly turning into brown puddle lakes ☹️

Yes, nothing at all on the Witney bank at that time, except for a wooded footpath. Remember an old "newsletter" we used to get that suggested the CS wanted to somehow put 'islands' in the middle of Winter Bay, obviously never came to anything 😂 Think they wanted to / did some sort of stock pond on the trout bank around that time too?
