I am assuming not many (any) waters have these now? If there are they are deff under the radar now I suspect. I did have the pleasure of catching some of the beauties back in the day from Horseshoe 😀👍 Apparently this guy is still trying to keep the strain going: https://www.leneycarp.com/ Does it matter? probably not tbh, but fair play to the bloke 👍

Just fork out £20 for a tub of magic beans mate..... all your worries will be over! 😂
-
Too many adverts on this, think it was filmed on Bury Hill Bonds lake.... awfull place but the guy proves his point.... maybe:
-
This guy got loads of abuse back in the day for apparently fishing in an 'out of bounds; area, not sure that was true, maybe jealousy from others I suspect. I had left fishing it when this was made. From memory he also claimed to be one of the first to use a method feeder on there, I know that is not true. Anyway, a good bit of stalking on a big pit at the time.

Used to have these on VHS. In his prime was a bit of a lad, but lot's of great info from his first 3 books. Remember meeting him at a Carp Society slide show and talk many years ago, then went outside for a demo of his air powered boilie cannon thing 😀 Part one: Part two: No copyright infringement intended but think some of a certain age might like this ?

Ignore this link, hopefully I have reposted this as a 'proper link' now and also added a topic title. ****** Mods feel free to delete this topic ******

Thanks for doing that mate 👍. Unfortunatly I make a complete 'dogs dinner' about my links recently, should improve in the future now. Not sure if any mods can do this, but maybe remove my post in the YouTube section and I can replace it with a topic with a proper heading and hopefully a proper link this time! 😃

Ignore that, it doesn't work on here...... Not a fan of AI, but google search for COG link displayed this; The Korda COG (Center of Gravity) lead system is a carp fishing setup designed for superior hooking by aligning the hook link with the lead's center of gravity, improving weight transfer for instant bite indication, and offering lead ejection like a standard lead clip. Setup involves using a specific COG lead with a matching Korda Boom and Lead Clip, attaching your hook link to the boom's swivel, and securing it with a pin for a fixed, highly effective bolt rig, or removing the pin for a running setup, using silicone tubing to cover and control retention.

Sorry can't do a proper link without a big URL on here
-
Once again no criticism, but yes been around for years, good luck to the young lad for making it work for him tho. https://www.google.com/search?q=cog+lead+system+setup&oq=cog+lead&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgDEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyCQgBEEUYORiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDIHCAQQABiABDIICAUQABgWGB4yCAgGEAAYFhgeMggIBxAAGBYYHjIICAgQABgWGB4yCAgJEAAYFhge0gEJODQ1MmowajE1qAIIsAIB8QXqvXa12FGS1A&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:eabc2f0f,vid:jnDDa9fka6w,st:0

A great idea, maybe a place to post links that are not 'so well known' on there? Think we all know about the usual tackle sponsored ones by now 😃 I did start another post on here about the Rod race YouTube channel, hopefully people will post links to more stuff on the new topic 👍
-
Not sure if this is the right section to add this but.... Many over a certain age will remember the original series, it's now on YouTube with a new series and they have their own channel. I have watched the first two episodes and have to say I really enjoyed it, so refreshing to not hear some bloke banging on about big carp captures, which in my opinion has been done to death. I am no way associated with the channel, but if you want a break from the usual stuff, maybe give it a try?
-
Plenty of similar hookbaits out there apparently, without the constant rants that guy gets away with on one of the many forums available out there 😂
-
A mate of mine suggested I might like a pot of some 'wonder hookbaits' for a pressie. When it turned out they were at least £20 a pot I had to say, are you joking, save your money, apparently they are 'cured' not in salt as I understand that is what used to be meant, but no they have gone through some sort of 'mystic process'. Oh but they have been backed up by loads of big carp captures, well that's as maybe but I had to say save your money, get me something else instead. Obviously a bit provocative, but what a waste of money for 99% of normal anglers? Anyway, Happy Xmas to all 👍
-
Deff slowed up / finished for me for a few months, old bones can't take the cold weather fishing anymore 😃 I did manage to get a copy of Archie Braddock 'Fantastic Feeder Fishing' a while ago, old skool now but very interesting read, makes a change from usual big carp stuff books 👍
-
Sounds ideal mate., I don't get the enthusiam a lot for carp now, probably because of the club water I now fish, it is not what it used to be. Still like playing about with tactics that are not so trendy now and they do work too. Think when you reach a certain age it is just making the time on the bank that matters to me
-
Just a thought, I use inline leads when bag fishing, no leaders or lead core. Probably best to make sure if you have a crack off / cut off, that the line can pass through your lead set up?
-
Sorry to bore everyone to death on this topic.... Just opened up alarms to fit new batteries as recomended, errr no rubber seal thing on the internal slot.. if that makes sense? Anyway, really looking forward to, hopefully, see them in action 👍
-
Just rooted out some old pics from the times I had on there when the CS took it over. I was one of the anglers who paid the money for them to actually purchase the lake, not sure what is going on there now tho. Wondering if there is anyone on here who actually fished it back in the day, so many good memories and people I met there. as ever time moves on and lost contact with everyone.... no Mobile phones and social media in those days
-
Well at least this thread seems to have got the posting on here up a bit 👍😀. Will be taking the new alarms out for a couple of day sessions at a (hopefully) easy coarse lake in Norfolk this weekend... if the forecast is to be believed tho, won't be any rain!
-
Hold on mate, was only a suggestion..... Let;s be abosulatly clear here... I have been using ATTS alarms for well over 10 years, never had any probs at all, only wanted to replace one that was my fault for bodging a job on it. Yes as stated before. did a U turn and got a new pair.... As for water ingress, well, IP67: IP67 Dust tight. Withstands ingress of dust with vacuum applied. Withstands incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes
-
Sorry, should have added that they have a rubber fitting way to do this..... Yes, despite my initial scepticism about them. I now have a pair 😀, won' have a lot of chance to try them out but they do look good. Slight critisim tho, the instructions said they were supplied with a 4 roller magnet, no it's the standard 2, also no mention of the little rubber gizmo to fix over speaker, it is fiddly but yes it does reduce the volume.... probably helps water ingress too?
