  1. Thanks I never use earth I was just using Google maps. Thought they were the same thing
  2. Can barely even find a mention of this venue online. Did manage to find some historical stuff but it's changed so much since then. Yeast would be the better all year bait then. I worry about the fishmeal not being as effective in the colder months.
  3. Never thought of it like that. I've been trying to learn by casting a marker lead around. Think I've found a gravel bar but not used it much as I only get day sessions and don't want to disturb the swim as it's tough enough fishing anyways
  4. Did you swap the aller for winter for something with a lower oil content
  5. @salokcinnodrog I fish attractor style at most venues I fish using pellets, crush, homemade method mix ect but the venue I've got a season ticket so spend most my fishing days is known locally as a very hard water. Some people are have never had a carp out of there. I've never seen another fish be caught whilst I've been on the water but the boys lucky enough to have night tickets say they have to odd 1 or 2. I've only managed 3 fish all year(nice fish TBF). I have swapped my baiting style as to try and avoid bream so only use 22 & 24 boilies and I think like you say if I can find a good food source boilie then I might start pulling a few more out more regularly. I've stopped with the pre-baiting as every time I turn up there's always someone in the swim I wanted to fish. Don't help I can't get a night ticket until I move up the list
  6. @Higham1987 I have a few pots of they're baits, mainly waters buchuberry wafter(no luck), bloodworm wafter, krill active wafter, krill pop-up, manilla pop-ups, wafter and spray, signatures pop-ups. I used outlaw pro the most. Either natural (buttery smell) or squid & octopus. If I can I like to find out what the local tackle shops are selling and then buy something totally different so I'm not on the same baits as everyone else on the lake. Is that your secret ingredients in the blue drum lol
  7. How long was you on the manilla fella. I'd love to catch a sturgeon.
  8. I've done okay on the manilla active. It helped me break my pb twice in a week on a difficult water but never had much luck with the pop-ups or wafters
  9. How do you prefer to fish. Do you put all 3 rigs on the same spot with the same baits. I have never fished like this. I always put my rods(2 or 3 depending on rules) in different places with one rod fishing a different bait and method. For example 2 on boilies n 1 on a pop-up or wafter but all different parts of the swim or lake if I have it to myself
  10. Looking for a change in bait. Tbh I've not got total confidence with any bait I use. I usually just grab a bucket or 2 of whatever I fancy out of the shed. I don't struggle to catch with what I use(except the venue I got season ticket for lol). Think I'd just like to go to one boilie with matching pop-ups. I keep finding myself on this site. https://advancedhookbaits.co.uk/ What bait do you all have faith in.
  11. It's a brilliant feeling. Didn't think if anything else whilst out on my bike. Just me, my bike, n the open mountain
  12. Very nice. As the saying goes "boys don't grow up, they're toys just get more expensive" 🤣. You know it runs well when you can stand a coin on the engine at idle lol. I've not ridden/ competed since COVID came along. Should really get it out n give it a service. Trouble is having the time to do both so it's fish n not ride
  13. Mine gotta be getting my first 30+ in February. My lad wanted to go lure fishing for pike so I thought I'd throw a line out for carp. 30mins in my rod gave a beep, I just thought pesky bream but then screamed into action. After it dragged me around for about 20mins I seen it break the surface, that's when I started to wet my pants at its size. It then only went right into a snag/tree. Jumped off the log I was standing on, off came my new boots n in the water I went up as far as my own tackle. Once on the bank it weighed in @ 34.02lbs. Now the biggest known fish in the lake called SOX. After I calmed down abit with a brew n a cigarette I grabbed the lure rod n first cast a PB pike of 10lbs. Not a monster but just starting out n still bigger than previous fish. That's 2PBs beaten with 1hr out eachother. One of the few days I didn't mind packing away when the lad was ready
  14. That's great. Be a killer going up some of the lanes to get to the lakes I fish
  15. That's some long range fishing lol. How many wraps out are you 🤣
  16. That's a nice bike. I'd love to have a bike on the road. One day, maybe when I stop buying fishing stuff lol
  17. Welcome along @BackInTheGame. Out of curiosity what was the 2 wheels. I done abit on a trials bikes for a few years. Still got a trrs 250.
  18. Has anyone had any experience with the sonik vader reels. Was thinking of buying the 8000 set. Thanks
  19. Stop putting ideas in my head. Sorry officer Mr B B told me to do it 😂
  20. Think I'll go with what I got n see how she gets on. If she gets cold I'll just get her to push my monster barrow around for a while, that'll warm her up lol. My bivvy got a overwrap aswell.
  21. I've got : thermal base layer, 95% merino socks, prologic max 5 thermo suit, hat, gloves, neck scarf. snugpak 4 season bag, snugpak jungle thermal blanket, ngt hot water bottle Got a bio ethanol(ventilated but supposed to be odourless) to burn in trangia stove if it's to wet to use gas stove outside. Did look at the candle heater but candles still produce carbon monoxide This is the main reason I was looking for some kind of heater as it can be the middle of the summer but the other half still wants the heating on.
  22. I purchased a fox camo bivvy bucket(not fox). I've not tested it yet... Just finishing getting all the stuff I think I need for a comfortable weekend fishing. Just gotta decide on a bivvy heater now. It's just a bait bucket that someones nicely boshed some wires ect in. I had it for £65
  23. Thanks. I have seen them, but.... apparently I'm paying the postman's wages with how much stuff he brings 🤣. So I've been told so they'll have to wait until a tackle shop is near by lol 🤫
  24. What boat you got? When I use the bait boat with a heli setup I just stand the lead in the hopper(mine has a little slit in the flap of the rear hopper) and leave the rig hang into the water(problem if you glug your bait. When I next get the boat out(not used in a while) I am going to put a small magnet on the rear corner, then I can put the hook onto that so when the lead drops it pulls the hook off. Mainly as zigs don't dump out very well, also can use pastes n glugs then if I choose and they won't wash off on the way out out
