Been outand bought a bag of chick peas....1st time using so starting small...

Handful in a cereal tub...Yellow die & manilla liquid with some water all soaking for next 2 days and turning colour...then will boil/simmer...air dry then may freeze..

These are next on my list, maize to try this week

  2. Got myself a spod rod and just about to set it up, the reel is filled with 18lb big game.

now the guy I bought them off said he didn’t have a problem casting this to 100 yards without any leader and hitting the clip,

so my question is do we agree this is ok to do? I’m only casting a small spomb around 60-70 Yard’s max,

😂😂😂is that you im in a bidding war with ? Lol only joking. I'm always on the lookout for a bargain but them reels must hold cult status within fishing as they seem to always go high. Post your old school set up one day, would love to see. Do you use fairy liquid caps as bobbins? 😂😂

Mainly night fishing now so had to upgrade and wrap them in silver foil

  4. If you want to send it to me I’ll solder it back on and I have the connectors here, wouldn’t want anything for doing it, you just pay postage? Unless your near measham I’ll do it while you wait? Just done my super xl’s

  5. Once I’m back into the swing of things again I’d like to find a nice syndicate within an hours drive of Ashby de la zouch, I’ve got willesley on my door step but I think £600 is a bit steep, maybe wrong though?

Not too worried about the size of fish just an old carpy looking lake will do me..

I split some of the Stanwick Lakes posts off into their own thread (https://forum.carp.com/topic/24684-stanwick-lake-from-bedchairs/?tab=comments#comment-326884), so sorry if this is now a little disjointed.

That is my biggest gripe about the 'top range' bedchairs, a lot of money for the foam mattress. Quality is not necessarily any better than some of the budget ranges.

Stick a £20 mattress on a £90 TFG Deluxe bedchair and you have the comfort of a Nash or Fox top price sleep system. Not being funny, but I do like being able to take the sleeping bag off, and this summer sleeping in just shorts and t-shirt.

A sleeping bag underneath leaves me dripping with sweat.

I mentioned earlier that I have looked at various bedchairs over the years, and none of the bedchairs I have owned have cost more than £130. I had a Badget bedchair that cost me £50, and that lasted for around 6 years. Only fault is elastic springing dies, and it gets easier to buy a new bedchair; Bison was its replacement, and again, that lasted 6 years or so. I think that cost £80.

The most expensive was one of the original Fox bedchairs, a simple centre elasticated section, with the canvas cover going around the frame at head and feet, and back in the 1990's that cost £129.99!

Yes I agree think I paid around £150 for my original jrc one in the early nineties! I’ve gone for the jrc one in the link for £99 delivered and I’ll get a sleeping bag for it,
