  1. Hi, Next year I will be using more particles in my fishing BUT.. This style of fishing is a minefield.. Tigers, peanuts, corn, maize, tares, chick peas, Hemp, groats...... I've gone halves and bought some unprepared with a mate, but he will be preparing as I've not a clue. When I get my own it will be mainly already prepared I'll be buying and wanting a good reputable maker. I don't have the Freezer space to freeze it either. I've been looking at monster particles lately... Monster Mix £14 for 5kg, Monster Nutty Mix £18 for 5kg but they recommended to be used in 7 days of opening. Also, Mainline Power Particle - Pulse, Mainline Nutty Hemp & Tares.... Both £11 for 3kg already prepared.... And I've heard/read all you have to do is keep em covered in water when not being used so they won't go off. Would this go for all particle? Just being covered in water keeping the attraction leaking out?
  2. Deffo be doing that 👍, Deffo be after New Year, I'll Lead about and try to find some spots, maybe even invest in a baiting pole. But it's on the Fishing list for a Canal Carp next year. Think I've spent about £60 and got about 60kg bait so far (all pellet and particle). Also be at the N.A.S in February.... Been looking at Monster Particle Deals.
  3. I've seen fish show up and down the long stretch, decent size rings showing, but not actually SEEN the fish, I know there are 20lb plus Pike in this stretch, I'm walking this area nearly every fortnite with the dog, some good swirls but no actual fish seen. It maybe because there's no bait going in? No pressure?... But will keep looking for fish and spots, I'm back down that end again this afternoon.
  4. Hi All, This is something I'm adiment on doing next year, literally 2min drive in car, or I'd even walk with my Barrow, about 6mins. These are my chosen spots.... The tree line goes all the way down to the pics on the previous posts further up are about 1 mile further down, and the marina about 5miles down. I've never seen a boat go through this stretch, or even an angler on here, obviously I need to find out about the bottom with the marker rod and feel about. By the end of this week I'll have 25kg pellets, 11kg particle (Tigers, Maize, Peas, Hemp, Peanuts) abd about 10kg Boilies. When would be a good time to introduce bait?
  5. They do, but I think it's like reels, personal preference and depend on the circumstances. I've only ever used 3 sets carp rods - NGT Dynamic to start, then sonik SK3 XTR, now the Sonik Vader X. The Vader X have been the better rod for me. I'm happy with what I have at the moment, not looking to upgrade, but if ever I have a Snap/Break I will look into the RS rods. 12ft 3.25TC

    Dogs and fishing

Sorry pal, its like losing a family member.
  7. I've used my mates boat alot with him and no issues. I wouldn’t mind 1.
  8. On my club water it's no more than 10 wraps (40yrds)to middle of lake, Park lake is around 16 wraps (64yrds) to the features...but 1 or 2 waters I plan on fishing next year have features that are considerably longer easy.... I just want to be ready for all scenarios really, same with the Canal, I will take to lead about on it, but feed via hand/catty. I want to have a good go on it next year on some decent waters.
  9. The 50lb Angry Fish is £17 for 1000mtr, Amnesia 30lb £5.50 for 100m.... Good reviews on them both I found, but so far I'm still thinking the Gardner Kinetic.
  10. I'll get all prepped from next week... At the moment I've had to take a break from fishing now, personal reasons in the family.... Hopefully back in New Year, but inbetween will be buying the things I need for a fresh start and to line up my canal areas. I'm down for a day at the Northern Angling Show in Feb and might hold out for Monster Particles if there at the show. Also be renewing my syndicate lake and they've had a new water put onto it also.
  11. When would be a good time to pre bait on a canal... Im venturing down too the 2 spots I've got lined up on Mo day for a look, then I'm gonna start stocking up on bait for it...Cirn, Pellets, Flake, Boilies, will get particle nearer the baiting time.
  12. You have a leader on Elmo?
  13. It's in the Basket for next week, with Korda Marker float kir, 2 Spombs n spomb floats 😁
  14. Just looking at Tackle box latest breaking strains... Apart from Berkley Fireline Braid/Tournament Braid... The Gardner Kinetic and Spomb Braid both in 20lb with a 50lb shock leader is looking the best 2.
  15. Got a spot literally 5 mins from me on Canal, hardly seen boats on it... Will deffo be giving it a go, but Canal Carp can be anywhere, so want to get a spot going, but don't know when to start it on the canal. On the day tickets/club waters/Park lake... Will be trying out the Spod on the areas I've found.
  16. The Rod will be used for Marking and Spodding, can you use a leader with a Marker lead, or can I use a Decent braid straight through.... A Decent braid that will be let me to cast about 60yrds at most so far with no leader.
  17. True, there's 2 areas I've found, 1 is literally under arm baiting, 1 is a turning point for boats, but never seen em turn. Maybe a pultable area? But deffo want to try the Canal.
  18. I couldn't, but last few sessions was doing some markering about and found 1 or 2 likely spots on the park lake. Not many people do this there, so I thought give baiting a try on it. Also, my mate put his name down just before me for Prince Albert ticket and got the go ahead yesterday, so maybe me in a few weeks and some waters need it on there. Also Also, some waters next year I want to go to react to bait out far.
  19. I think we've had this Topic before, but as of New Year, I will be starting to be Spodding. I recently purchased the Sonik Spod & Marker Rod with the Spod Reel (NO Braid). What is a decent braid and leader setup? I was looking at the actual Spomb Braid 20lb and Leader 50lb. A decent Spod /Spomb? The actual Spomb? When would be a good time spodding.... Also seen a decent stretch on a Canal to Spod?
  20. Carglobal on YouTube have shown a few new things coming for Sonik.... Not so keen on a few, but the clothing DEFO... Xtractor bivvy no no, Xtractor pod and anchor points no no...
  21. Seen these other day, meant to last quite a long time if used correctly.
  22. Thought it was a cheerio at 1st hahahaj
  23. I've ordered the 18lb and hopefully will be here this week, but much to the Wife's disapproval I said I'm out at weekend Saturday about 3pm to about 9am Sunday, all I got back was "What's the point in that, oooh do what you want"...
  24. I've just ordered the 18lb Version... The 15lb version will come off and will pass on to who ever wants it.... I've spooled up 3 spools and have abit left on the spool.
  25. The RS version have the thinner lighter ring guides on.
