  2. On a 24 at the moment, woken up about 1.30am by an alarm going off, came to nothing. Sat back in the darkness, lit up a smoke and just spent an hour looking up at the night sky. No light pollution, thousands of stars twinkling in the heavens with the remnants of the recent meteor shower zipping across in all directions. Worth the cost of the ticket alone.

  3. I like how the true order of service where monster munch are concerned was published perfectly by three diferent people.... 1. Flaming hot (all arguments to this are irrelevant 🤣😂) 2. Beef 3. Pickled onion

  4. I really enjoyed it. I don’t really care for the educational type fishing programme anymore so this being true escapism was right up my street. The guy I do my fishing with is exactly the opposite and was affronted that Bob is useless at fishing and didn’t like their banter. I think my fishing buddy is dead inside.

    New bed.

Another vote for the Wychwood flat tactical bedchair, My dad got me one for my birthday a couple years ago and i love it. I have the wide boy version and even that is still incredibly light.

    New bed.

All depends what you are looking for...……. Some of the more luxurious types weigh a ton...… I would deffo check the weight..... I've been using a Wychwood Tactical, which came recommended on this forum, purely for it's light weight attributes.... The compact version weighs in at 6.5 kg, I'm 5ft 11" and 13st and it gives me plenty of room and is half the weight of some bed chairs...….. Bed chairs come in all shapes and sizes and weights these days.... I would start by narrowing things down at first, being as there is so much choice...….. How big are you? How big is your shelter? Do you want to be mobile or are you happy to make camp and stay put? Are you doing short sessions or are you a week at a time bank rat? I like JRC, I've mentioned on other threads about the durability of their shelters...…. That bed chair looks ok, but comes in a bit heavy for me personally, with the smallest size being 9.3kg...…… Check out "Cyprinus", they do carbon copies of some of the more expensive brand names at much cheaper prices. Another option, for a bit more comfort is to buy an affordable bed chair and then purchase a 1" thick single bed, memory foam mattress topper and trim it to size. It will fold up with the bed chair and only add about 1kg to the weight. costs about £20 and makes a hell of a difference, especially in winter and can be removed through the warmer months...…. Imo, most of the £200 plus bed chairs, just have a memory foam mattress incorporated...….. My basic Wychwood Tactical, with a home made mattress topper (currently in the shed), covers all bases for my fishing.... BTW, welcome to the forum bud..

  13. Do any flavours actually make a difference, let alone sprays? I used a bait a few years back, along with four other anglers on a couple of waters. The bait had no added flavour or colouring, other than it’s ingredients. It caught a lot of fish for all of us that were using it. I know in the depths of winter, a single hook bait doesn’t suffer from an added attractor or booster etc but, are they really needed? Unflavoured plastic or foam, single hook baits catch plenty of fish, so why add anything? Personally, I think it’s all part of the things we do to boost our confidence. You can have anglers using a nice fresh bait, with the best of ingredients and attractors, and putting that bait to good use, and often reaping the rewards. On the other hand, you have certain anglers using much cheaper, and often inferior bait, and not putting it to good use as such, yet they still catch. I’ve seen anglers turn up late for a session, pushed for time trying to beat darkness, and they’ve pulled the rods out of the holdall, along with the baited rigs from their last session, mouldy boilie etc, cast out, and often they will catch lol! Do we put too much emphasis on bait? I like to offer the fish the best I possibly can in regards to bait, and use the skills and watercraft that I’ve learned to try and up my chances, and I would imagine the majority of anglers do too. However, many don’t yet they don’t do too badly as a consequence. It makes you wonder doesn’t it? Well it certainly makes me think.

  14. The shrink wrap seems to be working well, the baits arent totally impervious to the attentions of the crays but it does slow them down somewhat. One of the bailiffs has assured me there are some traps going out soon to try and thin the cray population down. Personally, I'd rather deal with crays as I believe they'll be in every single water within the next ten years so I might as well come to terms with it now. Anyway I'm back out Wednesday, rigs, bags and bait have all been prepared already and I can't wait to get back.
