  1. Nothing to do with the fishery itself. i just don’t take to kindly to someone that doesn’t know me (the lady at the end of the phone) commenting on my parenting and telling me that it’s irresponsible to take my three year old daughter to the lake with me. What she is un aware of is that that three year old probably has more sense around water than the clientele that where supping Stella the last time I walked round the lake. The same three year old that regularly walks the river with me and comes out in a canoe with me and happens to enjoy watching daddy fishing. Their loss not mine 🤣 I have plenty of places to fish on my doorstep

  2. Well, it's been very spawny round my way... Syndicate is shut for now and they just finished a couple of days ago on another lake (for now at least), so the raking and baiting has been put back a few days. I will walk round the local lake tomorrow evening with a rake and a barrow in the van. And if there are no signs of spawning, I'll pick up from where I left off last week and get raking... I've prepped some particle. 24 hr soak with some of the liquid aminos I concocted on the Enzyme thread, I've used the mussel one, and a slow simmer this evening to finish them off. We've got maple peas, tares and buck wheat.... I've left the hemp soaking for another 16 hrs or so as there were a few floaters still. It's the huge hemp, which usually needs a bit of a longer soak. Probably end up with about 10kg of wet particle along with 5kg boilies, enough to get a few spots going post spawning...… The maples especially, would have soaked up a lot of the liquid aminos and I'm hoping that the fish gain something extra and instantly utilisable than the plain particle offers, which will need digesting to attain the free form aminos…….. You just got to love this time of year, the extra daylight hours and long evenings makes it possible to get a few things done...….😊

  4. Thanks very much for the explanation as to why you wouldn't be giving Lakeland your money , Spr . Yonny beat me to it , you're not being oversensitive Spr , from your posts I can understand that you are a very proud , proactive Dad . Perhaps , maybe , the lady was making a sweeping generalisation , lumping you in with irresponsible parents worried that if anything happened to your Daughter you would then sue the pants off of Lakeland . 😃

  6. So have fished this lake a bit as a day ticket water as recently as the beast from the east. Im a bit gutted its becoming a club ticket as i mainly go there when my water is spawning or rammed. The lake itself it lovely, The fish in there are in great condition. Its owned by a match angler so theres loads of F1's and smaller carp in there however there are a few chunks in there 30lb+, i have had a few 28lb. The fish are in great condition. I wont be getting a ticket as i pay £160 for CAPS and i still have target waters on there to finish however i did really consider it...and still am depending on my mood. I do think £250 is a bit steep. Never met the woman, But i have met the owner and the baliff "lofty" who is a nice enough bloke.

  7. B.C.

    New reels ?

Here you go Chill... Tried to show line lay and bale arm width and compact body profile...…. At the time I bought these, I thought they were the best I could get within my budget, the spare spools being a bonus too, saves you at least another £150 on 3 of them... The Technium Black in 14lb is a very wiry line, something more supple would probably lay better.

  8. I only posted it up as I randomly came across the thread on here mate and thought some may find the info useful, after a phone call this afternoon it’s highly unlikely that I would give them my money. As for the costs i think they are a little high so I would hope that the £250 is an all in 24/7 365 price
