casting difference between 5500 and 14000 reels

How much further distance do you get on casting with using a 14000 over a 5500 reel or is it all really on the line capacity and the larger diameter line you can cast with the bigger reel. 

I find the 14000 a big heavy thing and try not to use them !

At a guess it would have less capacity, depends on the length of the spool as to whether it will make much difference but they are all designed to be smooth for casting these days so probably less than you might think but I haven't used one 😁

terry Edmonds just broke the world casting record with a windcast 5500 

before that he was using shimano 14000 reels
