Can I clip up with 10 ft rods and spod with a 12ft rod and bait up accurately

In answer to your question it is certainly possible to do what you suggest. It is simply a question of measurement skills and casting ability.

 

Whether you can or not is, of course, down to you.

As long as they're clipped up to the same distance of course you can mate.

if you have room just clip up the rod at the desired distance then put a temporary lead on the spod rod, take both rods and plug the leads in the ground (stand on them ) open the bale arms and walk backwards until you hit the clip then clip up the spod rod, allow a little less length on the spod rod depending on depth of water wind both rods back up and replace the lead with the spod and they are both then at the correct distance.

You obviously need enough clear room to use this method.

Or use distance sticks, the wraps will always be the same distance!

Easily!

You can do it a couple of ways:

Distance sticks, you know how many wraps it takes to get your fishing rods to the spot, the spod rod will be the same number of wraps. The distance between the sticks is the same no matter what length rods you use.

 

You can clip up and walk your end tackle down the bank to a physical mark; bankstick or even something like a bramble bush or tree trunk. The spod rod again can be clipped up on that physical mark. That physical distance does not change.
