Old school Posted September 12, 2018 Report Share Posted September 12, 2018 Got myself a spod rod and just about to set it up, the reel is filled with 18lb big game. now the guy I bought them off said he didn’t have a problem casting this to 100 yards without any leader and hitting the clip, so my question is do we agree this is ok to do? You'll have a lot more control on the cast & you won't have to put so much in. Imo the small ones are for margins. I use the Albright knot to join lines.
