I apologise if there’s a thread on this guys but I was wondering if anyone’s gave one of these a try and how they faired with it.

I bought one recently unfortunately haven’t had chance to give it a go yet so can’t comment on usability, although looking at instructions seems very simple to use and I think will do the job it’s designed to, hopefully getting out tomorrow after a nightshift so may give it a go and report back 😁

Great bit of kit.

Keeps the birds off your hookbait as they spook from line hanging down.

Also sets the hook really well.

Haven't used one for a few years to be honest( don't know why).

I think I’m going to have to purchase one and give it a try myself, I love abit of floater fishing! 😀

They look quite easy to make as well to be honest.

Think I'll have to get one myself now.

They look awful to cast don't they?

They can be temperamental. You may need to 'grease' up the stem to stop it 'sticking' to the water.

 

Mind you, casting an adjustable zig rig can be awkward to cast, but definitely less so than an 8 foot hooklink!

I made the same thing nearly 30 years ago with a pike float ... lead on bottom to keep anchor , It was like casting an angry monkey out ... rig bits spinning etc , hope its improved ,
