buzzbomb
I was thinking of drilling holes all over a small pill bottle and stringing it on. jh92
Gazlaaar
Why not just use cage or maggot feeders? jh92
jh92
Wouldn't a maggot feeder or a pill bottle be too big? Sorry for any confusion but I meant something like this B.C.
Gazlaaar
In that case You could use a piece of cork, I think you can buy little coils for paste to use with hair rigs. jh92

salokcinnodrog
You can thank me afterwards https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271211812588 Gives me an idea! Â Fill them with boilie paste, and even roll it outside the cage, and boil as per your boilie mix. Â You then have a crayfish resistant bait. The outer skin may be munched, but the 'liner' is protecting the inner part of the boilie from the little beggars B.C. and jh92

buzzbomb
I find these hair clips in the bar, but they're available everywhere for next to nothing, (she'll never miss it), and as the bait disintegrates it closes on the line. I keep a few of various sizes in my tackle box. jh92, David_Ridgers and B.C.
ianain
Dare I suggest moulding it on the hook , this time of year it should last quite well and still pull through easily. Â It's not cray proof though jh92
Phil
Used to open up a paperclip, then wrap it around a biro to make a spring type thingie. Used this attached to a hair to mould the paste around. The spring from a clothes peg worked well too lol. jh92

buzzbomb
Btw, I always figure that if the Cray's are around, the carp arnt.I consider them free groundbait, the carp here eat crayfish and if there's a few around my rig that's ok. I consider them free groundbait, the carp here eat crayfish and if there's a few around my rig that's ok. Nige says he has seen carp spook from large crayfish, although I have not had that pleasure. I consider smaller crayfish will act as groundbait, I don't think a carp will turn its nose up at munching on a few small ones. I have had carp take cray munched baits, I played a carp in November a few years ago that when I checked the bait, the mesh was cut and the pop-up had chunks out of it. Phil
I usually feel that Cray's don't tend to hang about if there are feeding carp present. Applies to chub and perch too.
jh92
Used to open up a paperclip, then wrap it around a biro to make a spring type thingie. Ended up using some thin coated garden wire, wrapped it around a baiting needle to make a spring and tied it on a hair. Going to test it out in a minute
