Maxima Chameleon Line

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think about the Maxima Chameleon fishing line?

Apparently it's supposed to somehow absorb light better than other lines, as opposed to reflect light off of the line and making it stand out.

It just sounds like typical manufacturer spiel to me...

I got some just today, going to be using it for my hook line. I'll give it a shot, Just wanted to know if anyone else has used this line before.

A very long lived line, been around for years!

I know I was using it in the 1990's possibly or probably before at times as my pike fishing mainline, carp fishing mainline and hooklink, and also in lower strengths for chub, roach, tench.

In fact I still have a spool of it now to go on my chub fishing reel as it is still one of my favourite mainlines for ledgering or freelining, very tough, can handle a bit of abuse as chub stalking is apt to be.

Come to that, I have a feeling that when I rigged up my sons and daughters pole rigs, I used Maxima as the mainline and just added a hook to nylon for them all.

Sounds like a good all rounder then...

Anyone care to compare the performance differences between the Maxima Chameleon and Trilene Sensation?

I've read the marketing stuff about both from the sites, but I was wondering from actual experience if anyone is able to comment on the differences.

Both these lines seem like decent all-round lines for the cost. That's what I've picked up from various online sources anyway. Not sure how accurate that is.
