  1. As the cost of fly fishing has escalated in the last few years I decided to do a bit of coarse fishing. Floating crust is a great way to fish on my local Claygate Lakes but getting the crust to the far side of the water was tricky so I now squeeze the soft bit of the crust on the hook and cast it just like a fly. Apart from catching those damned Alder trees it works well. I probably only successfully hook one in ten takes, though. I have tried the 'carp flies' imitating bread and dog biscuit but the fish are too wary for that sort of rubbish!
  2. Agreed, it does not change colour according to water conditions. But good strength/diameter ratio. I will give it a go fly fishing but suspect that my troutie friends will be a bit too discerning for it to work. Adam de Gurdon
