just came home today after 24 hours, full of weed. Few clear spots but pain in the bum finding and hitting them. We had nothing, nobody on the big lake had anything either when we were there. personally, i'd go up to Linnear.

Orchid Lake is not for the inexperienced carp angler, there are plenty of runs water which would be more suitable for those that expect fish to be climbing up their rods. For the angler that is prepared to work the rewards are there to be had

I have to say orchid is a superb lake, its not a runs water but the fish are worth catching if your prepared to put in the effort, good luck with which ever lake you choose

I did a week there about two years ago my old man was in dead dog and has a decent weeks fishing, I was 2 swims to his left and had sod all

 

for grub there is a decent biker cafe up around the corner, good prices and not too pricey

 

They also offer a you a lift to your swim with all your gear and pop round daily to collect your rubbish

thanks for all info got gd app on iphone for st johns whent to st johns hard work 7 carp in 24 hr nothing over 25lb tho went thorpe lea last weekend 33 carp and lost 11 biggest 27lb 8oz in 24 hr
