    360 rig

On the subject of the ALF and others, you do know they consider pleasure anglers to be sub-human, as in getting pleasure from the mindless suffering of an animal for our pleasure alone. And they are correct too, but I can live with that. If a angler was honest, they should know that sport fishing is going the same way as other field sports, probably be banned with in the latter part of this century

    360 rig

It's a very snaggy pool, link for map, good pool mind. it's the farm next to Ash pole spinney https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.2808599,-1.3742959,496m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en-GB

    360 rig

That's a bit uncouth, 360 rig aside, fish welfare is paramount to angling. I once had at first sight a real beauty of a mirror carp, then I got it out of the net and seen most of its lower jaw and gill plate were torn off on one side, the fish was 16lb, the offending tackle was still in-place, a crappy two ounce pear lead tied to what looked like no more than 8lb line and a massive barbed hook. The amount of line it was trailing was shocking, I did the best I could with it and put it back, I didn't go out again for a while after that. Oh I used the uncouth bit cus those nutters in the ALF don't think people should keep pets, they would sooner all dogs and cats were put down, at the more extreme end of them idiots.

    360 rig

I have never used that rig, then again I don't fish single pop ups. I like pop ups used on a bottom bait, for that I use a bit of snake bite. I used to use the withy pool rig, but while that sat out all day with out a knock the snake bite rig was working, I know loads of big fish have been bagged on the 360, but there is probably a bit more to it than putting a pop up on and casting it out 30 yards plus, looks like a good margin rig.
  5. I know a little bit about hand built rods, a guy called Malc Rooker used to make rods, I have used a couple in the past, all the blanks are either Harrison or New Century, he also did a Harrison waggler rod which is a real quality piece of kit, I used to use one one the canal, it's what got me into carp fishing. He closed his shop and moved a number of years back, haven't heard of him doing anything since then. I often look to see if I can find any of his rods on the second hand market, never have. What would I buy if money was there, Harrison ballista slims, by Malc Rooker
  6. Pine pool at Kingsbury can be a bit intimidating in the summer for some, on a weekend you need to take the Bear out Salmon fishing approach, I have never heard of any one being threatened , but I wouldn't be surprised, some of the lads that turn up in the evening can get a bit stropy if they don't get the swim they want, I had it a bit last year, guy stood behind me on his phone moaning about what swims were taken. After a few visits like that and them seeing me catch the attitude changed and secrets were shared.
  7. These are some made up bottom bait rigs, I will also use the snake-bite for my pop up baits, but I used all them and have none made up, I will also put a bit of tubing on the snap swivel and a bit of fine shrink tube on the hook eye going an inch or so up the line, just to try and give a bit of cushion.
  8. I'd also tip my hat to Danny Fairbass, I know some scoff at the whole Korda marketing regime (lol) But the blokes done more to bring carp fishing to the main stream than most and with all the detractors and come lately environmentalists, trying to put themselves forward as the wild life police, we need the Dannies and Alieis of Korda, annoying as that sarf London accent is! Also, they remind me of them characters in the fast show, Simon and Lindsey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzg4dO7DIFw
  9. Got to be Mr TV himself, John Wilson. Even if you have not been out in years or never fished before, John will get you out

  12. I always use a bit of crumb in my PVA bags, that and a bit of PVA liquid, helps fill up any air pockets.
