  1. Thanks for the info, decided to go for a 11ft one with the drennan reel. I was gonna go for a 10ft one but as you said about fishing in deep water maybe a 11ft one will be better because a few of the waters I fish are pretty deep lol just hope it's here by Friday
  2. I'll get it ordered then mate, does the length actually matter? I've been reading up on the length of the rod for float fishing and every answer is different lol.
  3. Been having a look at a few reels and I'm thinking of getting this one for a float rod http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-NEW-Hyperloop-2500-RB-Match-Fishing-Reel-Rear-Drag-HL2500RB/371736931241?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40656%26meid%3D5c7d071266f14f09b046151b9bac7985%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D291965348709 what do you think??
  4. Has anyone used one of these before? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-NEW-Coarse-Fishing-Forcemaster-AX-Commercial-10ft-Mini-Float-Rod-/231100006881?hash=item35cea241e1:g:La8AAMXQWzNSfNtu I'll be fishing the canal, river and most of the lakes I go to with it. Just looking for something to put in the rod bag and take with me so if I get a bit bored I can set up the float rod and catch a few silvers lol thanks
  5. Thanks for the replies, I've showed him a few of them and he's gonna go for the trakker big snooze
  6. I'll have a look mate, is cyprinus a good brand?
  7. I'm trying to find a relatively cheap sleeping bag for my dad to use but with all these different ones on the market I don't have a clue what's good etc, any thoughts on what he should look at? I've seen a few of them ngt 4 season ones on eBay for around £50 but I have no idea what their quality is like lol. Any advice would be great thanks
  8. I've been having a look at that lakefishabil and I'm very tempted to book my first carp trip to France with them, I don't have transport at the moment so them picking you up from your door seems ideal lol
  9. Honestly mate all my fishing has been done with 2 rods, but this year I fancy a change, 3 chances are better than 2 lol I've also had a 3rd delkim lying around not used for the last few years so I best put it to use lol and I dunno if its a ocd thing but I've got to use it in the middle or else I'll loose all confidence thinking something is out of place lol
  10. I'm 50/50 with it mate but I don't think I'll get a better offer at the moment, or again so I've ordered it, it'll have to be the middle rod though I can't have it on one of sides lol. Now I've gotta find 3 reels for them
  11. I've still had no luck finding a 2.75tc, but managed to find a 3lb tc one, tempted to get it I just don't know much it'll stand out from the others... Maybe having one of a different tc is a good thing, might be able to put a bait further out or maybe I'm just lying to myself lol
  12. Can anyone help me here, I'm looking to buy a nash h gun dwarf 9ft 2.75tc mk2 rod to go with my other two. I'm having a hard time finding one because that model is now discontinued , does anyone know where I can get one? New or second hand (as long as its in good condition) is fine. I know they've brought out the abbreviated model, but it would bug the hell out of me because they wouldn't be a matching set lol. Thanks
  13. I've got a jrc sti 2 man myself, I've had it for a couple years now and only used it a few times. Its a pain setting up and like you say, fitting 2 bed chairs is a nightmare. I would avoid getting this bivvy mate
  14. I used to use clear shrink tubing all the time, I would have a piece over the knotless knot and a small little bit further down the hook to keep the hair nice and neat. Recently I switched to black and lost all confidence in it because I didn't like the way it stood out. I've now gone back to using nothing but a simple hair rig. I've done really well with and without it
  15. Just ordered that one myself for £52 mate, he's got one left http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARP-FISHING-SABER-LITE-BROLLY-LARGE-60-WATERPROOF-BIVVY-SHELTER-WITH-SIDES-/272545897406?hash=item3f75005bbe:g:eiYAAOSwa~BYZQVH
  16. Thanks for the replies I'm gonna have a look at some info on the q dos brolly, if I can't find anything on it I'll go for TFG one
  17. I'm looking for a new brolly or shelter at the cheapest price possible, I'm not fussed about the brand or anything.. All I want it for is day sessions and the odd over nighter, an open front one without a overwrap or an attachable front. As long as I can use a bed chair in it would be ideal lol. Any ideas on what I should get? Thanks
  18. Daiwa sensor, great stuff mate. I use it in 10lb and 15lb
  19. The free bag got me lol, I'll be ordering it sometime next week, thanks. As for the reels I'm gonna go to my local tackle shop and see if they got them in there, see what they feel like for myself tbh I'm torn between the Nash bp4s and the daiwa black widows lol
  20. I've had a few sessions over the last month but caught nothing, I've noticed the spots where I fish are littered with old dead baits where the anglers have thrown them in when packing up.. So I'll probably be giving it a miss for the next few weeks lol.
  21. I don't really have a budget for the chair, just looking for something cheap to replace sitting on the basit bucket lol. I'll have a look at the Nash reels now, how have you got on with them? I've read mixed reviews about quality lol Cheers mate I've just had a look at it now, it looks great but I think the price is a little high for me lol. I like them mate, have you used them before? I see if there's any reviews on them today
  22. I need some new reels to go with my Nash h gun 9ft 2.75tc rods. I'm using some wychwood reels at the moment but I'm finding it hard to get them in the rodbag so need some new smaller ones. Can anyone recommend some? I want them small and I don't mind if their baitrunners or not. I also need a new chair for day sessions, any idea what to get? I don't want to spend too much money on these so the cheapest ones possible would be nice lol thanks
  23. Hi mate got a few things to do today but I'll have a look in the shed later and see what I've got
  24. Sounds interesting mate, can you name the lakes please?
  25. 3 fox inductors for £5, Shakespeare rod bag for sea fishing for £2, one of them sea tripods that holds 2 rods for £10 and a single one for £5. Had lots of other stuff too, we usually get down there early to get the bargains!!! Lol
