  1. I used it in 6lb; I thought it was thicker and a bit stiff for float fishing (compared to 6lb sensor and using pellet wagglers), at 12lb I would say you'll struggle to cast any distance without a reasonable weight attached, but that's just my findings.
  2. I was only joshing, there are a few places around here that seem to catch the wind quite well, nearly joined the fish a few times trying to set up a brolly
  3. Some recent post on the subject What carp rods? i need some 3 piece carp rods , could you help me ? Help with rods Carp rod sizes?? Decent set up that won't bankrupt me What's not too pricey? And what's not massive weights?
  4. As if to prove a point, on another thread; not so far away
  5. Silkweed catches. Having caught on a bare hook (checking the depth), I know you can, but would feel safer with a bait on - the plastic weed on the hook though I think has got legs since it gives the fish more to suck on. Sunshine did or do a range of camouflage rigs which is kind of similar.
  6. You'll have to change your name to Baron Sugar sacking all those people
  7. Some words are automatically edited, I cannot list them, but they will change to stinky winky or [censored], maybe even new things since the changes to the forum

Size is not the issue (as such), it's all down to the buoyancy of the top bait compared to the density of the bottom bait. As they can vary there is not a set formula based on size alone. Just experiment and try them out in the margins to get some idea of how they might sit when cast out.
  9. Is there any update on this? Are they going ahead? Have they found another way?
  10. My rigs can look quite childish as well, so don't be put off, they still catch There should be a bit where he explains how she adjusts them to suit - it would be difficult to produce that effect at all depths, might be easier to shave your boilie a bit, the alternative is to add extra weight to your hook maybe putty or a split shot.
  11. Tie some string onto your next one and hang it around your neck, you won't lose it then
  12. I've heard it used that way, but I know it as I described above; English is such a funny language; I can't remember which comedian it was, but he was talking about a trip to America and asking the concierge of the hotel to get him some fags (Bob Monkhouse?)
  13. Um, not what it's know as 'ere Sorry to be so cryptic , but what the tanks call the backside, is another name for it in these here parts. No, but one walked up my trouser leg and stung me.
  14. Cheers, I like full cork and have been looking at the Wychwood ones, but they have 50mm butts and if anyone round here hears witch wood, there'll be trouble.
  15. Are they the ones with full cork handles that you posted a picture of?
  16. Spinach?

  18. Maggots can come to you quite greasy or just plain damp from the fridge, so it often depends when you get them with regards to their life-cycle and also what processing the shop has done to them. I've always found maize (and turmeric powder) can help to soften them which helps when hooking them. I agree, however saw-dust can clog up as well; they may need to be riddled often depending on how warm they are as they tend to sweat the more they wriggle about / the hotter they are. As above, some anglers add things to their maggots and some don't (I do), it's really up to you - I will add caution to liquid additives though, only add liquids if you are going to freeze them in a sealed bag ... maggots spend their whole life wriggling, the liquids allow them to stick to the sides of anything, they can even crawl through the tiny pin-holes in a bait box lid. So long as they are fresh (dry) don't put a lid on them as they can sweat - even if you store them in the fridge, they will be safe since they won't wriggle about much, keep them in the lowest section - once the other half gets used to it they will be fine with it.
  19. I just knew it Phil, the truth will out
  20. Apart from that it's the same one Sorry, I've used all of my coats up I'll go back to being quiet
  21. I wouldn't bother snooze, the title is misleading and it does not explain anything on the mechanics of rigs. It's certainly not worth a tenner - 128 pages in A5 (ish) size; it starts on page 6 and has 12 full page adverts. I think that it's just a compilation of magazine articles; from angling publications; as they contain major product placement and seem to be missing a punctuation mark or 2, spelling / grammar mistake and the annoying things you find in such bits of paper cobbled and stapled together. I did like the cover though. You can have my copy.
