  1. Blimey, sounds worse than Chi. Did you ever go back?
  2. I suspect a lot of it is exaggerated by cartain peole wanting to keep other anglers away, but it is on the edge of a caravan park so . . . . . . . . .
  3. Not yet, but if/when I hear I'll PM ya. It's all getting a bit secret squirrels down there. Do you fish down there much? I'm thinking of maybe having a little campaign on west next year, plus putting some hours in on Peckham for the big Tinca.
  4. Still as overgrown as ever. I think Runcton's gone syndi. If it hasn't gone already it's definitely going next year.
  5. Fair point, that's one hell of a growth rate. I suppose if you catch it at excatly the right moment, full of spawn it could do it any year, but the old girl does seem to have levelled off recently.
  6. Do you really reckon there's a chance it might beat the Romanian fish one day?
  7. Do you think it will get bigger? I thought it had been dropping in weight over the last year or so.
  8. A lot of people reckon Korda hooks aren't sharp enough. Personally I'd try Fox Arma Points, but like someone else saidf, you've got to make one change at a time, or you won't know what the problem was.
  9. I reckon Del's motor would probably make it though.
  10. Hi Mate, Did you have any luck with Farnham or Portsmouth? I've recently been fishing a lake up near Copthorne that has a couple of 40's in it but am still on the look out for other waters. Hello mate, yup, I joined Portsmouth and have been pretty happy with it so far. I did a bit of digging and found that Farnham was a non-starter. They've got so many members that at weekends it's almost impossible to get on their better waters, and even midweek it can be difficult. I didn't want to be in a situation where I drove 60 miles to fish somewhere, only to find I couldn't get on. Copthorne . . . . .Hunters Lodge, what's the place like? Its a really nice place mate, but at only about 1.5 acres has its limitations when it comes to amount of water you can fish. If there are more than 3 swims being used you find yourself limited as to where you can fish. The fish are beautiful in there though, every carp I've seen come out has been in perfect condition and they also have some lovely cats f you're that way inclined. Biggest I've had so far is just under 25lb but they do go to much bigger in there. Owner is a decent bloke as are all the anglers I've met there. The only problem I've got with the place is that you need to pretty much have it to yourself to be able to fish where you want. Was there a waiting list for Portsmouth? Any decent sizes in any of their waters? PM on it's way
  11. Monument and Horseshoe are the two I've always wanted to fish. I would also have said Linear, but from what I've heard it's always so busy.

  13. You could be right BC. Saw quite a few of the guys bivvied up for the night, I couldn't as a) I don't have a bivvy yet b) I was working today Had a great bit of news earlier. The mate that I went with yesterday is a roofer by trade. He had to go around a big nursing home in the area this morning to price a job up. There was a lovely lake in the grounds, that the manager showed him round. Big carp swimming around, and they gobble up the scraps thrown in by the kitchen and the residents also throw in scraps of bread that get them feeding. The manager has said that we can both fish it whenever we want for free. And it hasn't been fished for over 20 years. I'm excited already!! Mate, that sounds awesome. Let us know how you get on.
  14. Sounds like it's a little pressured. Might fish better at night?
  15. Fished there a couple of times last year while teaching a mate from Safrom Waldon to fish. Don't think there's anything massive, even in the speci lake, but last time I went I had six off the top upto about 12lbs. The whole place looks a little too artificial for my taste, but it was ok.
  16. Haven't had a chance to get up there yet BC. Working this week-end so it won't be for another couple of weeks before I can have a "look-see". Fishing Tricklebrook tomorrow..... I've looked at that place a few times. You ever fished there before?
  17. I contacted them direct via their Facebook page and heard back very quickly from "Lil".... Going to pop up there next time I'm in the area and have a look around. Looks like a nice place to fish. Thanks for the info Doug Rob Did you have a look round, and if so, what did you think?
  18. Sorry mate. I hate the [censored] things. Almost as much as Bream I love Bream too, if they're big enough. Was well chuffed with a 10.6 Abramis Brama I picked up in the spring.
  19. Hmmm, fancy doing an overnight session up there Febuary time? Hey, who's party is this????? PS I'm not a Perch man so for that reason, I'm out It's just one big party Rob. Seriously Rob, January to March you should have a go for the old Perca Fluviatillis. It's not often you have the chance of bagging a fish close to a British Record, or even an actual British record.
  20. Hmmm, fancy doing an overnight session up there Febuary time?
  21. That's interesting, I've always thought of Perch more as a sight feeder. I'm guessing he was using prawns or lobworms?
  22. Eh?????? Thanks for the info by the way. I'm on the case Oh my god, no! That was meant to be such like, honestly. Bl00dy fat fingers. Doh! Re Stream Valley, will be interested to know how you get on there. I always do a few sessions up there Febuary March time, trying to pick up a big Perch, and Carping over night.
  23. Are you still in some kinud of cast?[/quote Yep still wearing the lovely brace ] What a nightmare. Is it permanently fixed in place, or can you take it off for baths and suck like?
