  1. I've heard a lot of good reports about it, but you have to be within 6 miles of Chichester to join.
  2. Have you looked at Crow Green fishery near Brentwood. I think that would be in range for you. Not fished it myself as it's a bit far from Brighton, but a mate of mine fishes it regularly, and really rates it.
  3. You wouldn’t be the proprietor of a certain Crow Green Fisheries would you?
  4. Welcome to forum mate. I wouldn't mind finding a place like that myself.
  5. Not sure I agree with previous post. I use fluorocarbon mainline because it is invisible in water. It has more elasticity than braid, but less than mono. It is also extremely abrasion resistant. I use braided hook links because they are softer and more flexible than fluorocarbon, giving a better presentation, in my humble opinion.
  6. From my experience, Cell, New Grange and Proactive Pineapple work prett6y much anywhere, so if you want to tkae a plan B they'd probably be your best bet.
  7. If you're going up there in the next couple of months you you should have a crack at the Pike, there's meant to be a couple of 30s in there.
  8. With such low rainfall, by March the place will probably be the size of a garden pond, so no trouble finding the fish.
  9. Some lovely Carp and Pike in there, but it is massive, so finding the fish can be a job. Also, the water levels are seriously low at the moment. Lower than they’ve ever been at this time of year I think.
  10. Didn't go in the end. Went up there to have a look and maybe do a bit of pre-baiting but found the water level so low that it put me off. It must have been 6ft below it's normal level. Might be better now after all the rain we've had. Definitely want to have a crack at it when the levels are back up. Let me know how you get on.
  11. No mate. I'm thinking of joining Farnham or Portsmouth next season. They've got some special waters. Most of them are over an hour away, but that's not a real problem when you're doing 24-36 hour sessions, and there's junt not much quality fishing round Brighton.
  12. Can't remember what I paid when I did a night session a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't much or I would definitely remember.
  13. It'll happen, and the longer you have to wait, the better your skills will be by the time it does. It's like driving, some of the worst drivers I know passed first time.
  14. Looks beautiful. How many acres would you say each lake was?
  15. It’s a bit like the old Irish joke about the chap asking for directions, and he’s told, “I wouldn’t start from here in the first place”. If I was starting carp fishing, I wouldn’t start this time of year, and I probably wouldn’t start with carp fishing. But I guess it’s easy for us to say that, and it’s entirely up to you when and what you start at. I’ve been doing it for years, and I was recently on a run of 5 blanks, which I only ended by cheating, and going to a local little runs water. You’ve go to realise that 150 hours without a bite is not that unusual this time of year, especially if you’re fishing a water you aren’t familiar with. You just need to keep plugging away. Try using Cell fresh frozen boilies, they’re pretty reliable at most places. If there aren’t too many other species in the lake, scale down the bait size, and reduce the amount of ground bait you’re putting in, as carp don’t need much to survive at this time of year, and try to find the fish. Look for signs on the surface, look for features. Carp are a lot more mobile in the summer so, to a certain extent the fish might come to you, but that won’t happen in the winter, you need to find them. Good luck.
  16. PM me if you’d prefer not to elaborate in public.
  17. Rep? Are we talking poor fish, tackle theft, agro anglers? Do I need to go tooled up? LOL
  18. Broadlands is pretty decent, and not too far from Southampton.
  19. I'm doing a session there in the week, can anyone give a bit of advice on the water? Cheers T
