  1. Not sure I'd be up for a night fish though...http://www.mystic-worlds.co.uk/Dawns-Vale-Lake(1447591).htm
  2. Well P1mikey I don't know about you but Newmarket may well have convinced me! Cheers, NM How far are you from Braintree? If I go it'll be for the day on 25th June, I'll pick you up if you want
  3. Not wanting to hyjack the thread but Newmarket for a day only session which would you do, blassford hill, Chelmsford or your Braintree place? Cheers boss!
  4. Question for you Nick, is the hair on your combi rig made with mono? If so how come? Cheers
  5. Or could you get a guest ticket for CAPS, not sure if that allows night fishing though?
  6. http://www.weybreadcarpfishery.co.uk/mostly posting as I love the place! but they have a couple of nice double swims, 4 & 5 or 8 are a good bet, not too far from Colchester, not stoopid difficult and not expensive. All swims are to be booked in advance so you are guaranteed your spot. Good luck. I'd be interested to hear where you end up
  7. Walking is one thing you will definitely do! The lake is a fair trek from the car park. I'm not sure where the cabin is related to the lake though. It is a lovely place. Definitely a good choice
  8. http://www.carp.com/topic/19549-the-mills-lake-in-taverham/?fromsearch=1check this out, I'm sure Nick will reply to you soon. I can't comment on the fishing but the place is beautiful. I think the cabin lets you fish the river also
  9. Why whoosh NM ? Are you impressed at my Google skills?
  10. Your brilliant Liam, this is not said in a bad way at all but keep it simple is pretty much your go to reply, always makes me smile ! One day I may listen. I do like making rigs, but I've got to say I'd worry the pop up would some how end up on the wrong part of the loop. I see a chod as a massive hook that turns well when picked up and is difficult to eject. As has been said I don't see how the big d will help. I'll probably end up tying one though as I do like the look of it
  11. Is this it? I typed "New chod rig" into Google found the image but not how to tie it

  13. ha ha ha, I'm such a child....
  14. Follow nicks advice, but I can say heartsmere at waveney valley is nice, only has 5 swims so a few of you can get the whole lake, and there is good facilities there. The fish can be cagey so must be super quiet and set up back from the bank. If you are uber quiet they can be caught on hemp and sweetcorn close in. Or either as tight as you can get to the far bank, or 6 foot off the overhanging trees. Let us know where you end up!
  15. Ha ha I'm a numpty it's rectory pool! Doh! Yes Colchester angling
