  1. I have being using the Combi-rig over the last 12 months, as my water is very weedy, I can chuck this into the weed using a 1oz flat pear lead and it sits nicely ontop of the weed as I use a snowman bait and a PVA nugget aswell. I do usually fish onto the clear spots which this rig has done the job for me, but when there are fish in and on the weed, and you need to fish on the weed, as I said, this rig has done the job and put me fish on the bank. Plus catching a few PB's on this rig also last year gave me massive confidence in it.
  2. I don't no many, but fosters also have the farm, and have a couple of spaces left on there, sure there is a 40 in there names Rita, if you ring fosters they will surely help you out.
  3. A message went on facebook from fosters yesterday saying the last few places on penns hall had being filled yesterday morning. So if you are interested you will have to go onto a waiting list, but as far as the lake is concerned I don't know anything about it.
  4. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?p=575489&highlight=#575489 Try this.
  5. There is a day ticket water right behind the snowdome named boroughpit or spelt something like that. I'm told you just turn up and fish and a woman walks round and collects your tickets. Supposed to have some 20's in and a 30? It's days only unless you join the lambs clubs. You also have Kingsbury Water Park, plenty of lakes on that complex with big carp, 10 mins away from Tamworth. Riddings is local I believe although never fished there that has carp over 20 I think too?
  6. I use Carp Craze stuff, pretty cheap and does what I need it too and never need to change. I once heard a story of a company who accidently ordered the wrong material and made a batch of solid bags with them. Anglers who used them wondered why they where not getting bites when they should of and when they wound their rods in for a mornign re cast after a quiet night they found their rigs where still nice and neatly packed into the bags
  7. I have being looking all over the forum for your thread with them pictures to post here. I remember you telling me about that way Nige, and I must say its how I tie my chods now and feel very confident in the way they present the bait and the hooking capabilities.
  8. I know a few lads down there Matt. I see the name kingcombe or something crop up around there, Wally's lake and a few others, but as I'm from the midlands I have no first hand experience. This is no plug, but go to YouTube and look for Fishing Dorset. He has fished a fair few venues and caught from most too, have a look, you might find a venue to suit.
  9. I havnt got sky so havnt seen many think tackle programmes, but would be a stunning fish on the bank! Will have to see what underwater 8 brings!
  10. Just say goodbye to another one of Britains true carp waters.
  11. Fish are staying in, according to cuttle mill it will be ran exactly the same when the government get it. The only thing in not sure about is if it's open right now, but I presume it is.
  12. I just read that Haha! Will have to be super sneaky
  13. That's it, the owners of cuttle mill are leaving the fishery tommorow. They just posted it on Facebook. Wonder what will happen to it now when the government take over.
  14. Most of my fishing is solid bag work. So got a few short braided rigs ready tied in my wallet, if not fishing a bag then i'l be using a chod which are all tied up on rig winders ready to go if needed. Each to their own, but just take a step back and re evaluate your situation, you might realise that your looking into things abit too deeply and are worrying over nothing.
  15. Im sure many anglers had both of these DVD's on their Christmas list last year, as they where both highly anticipated to make very good watching. I have recently just finished watching both of them, and well, I was impressed by both of them... Seeking Shadows; As it was Martin Bowler, I was expecting truly amazing footage after watching his series of catching the impossible, and he really didn't dissapoint. Truly awesome underwater footage, and put across his campaign on a syndicate in the deepest darkest dorset. Showing his sessions on his syndicate, watching him and a few others land some magnificent carp on a water most other anglers would love to get a ticket on. And not just a Carp DVD, other species such as perch and Blue sharks, which gave the DVD variety and experience in more than one field of angling. Just made one great DVD and a pleasure to watch, would recommend it to anybody! Korda Underwater 7. Again, as it was the Korda boys, and their previous successful underwater DVD's, i had high hopes for this DVD...It didn't disappoint. After hearing they would be heading over to fish St John's, it immediately had my attention, even though i have never fished St John's, I have a decent understanding that it can be a tricky water, but with some big fish in and alot of stunning carp too, which are heavily pressured. It was obvious that they would have an advantage on the lake over every day anglers, by having the swim booked for a couple of weeks and being able to introduce alot of bait to get the fish feeding and get them comfortable, but lets be honest, if they hadn't of had the advantage, it could of made for a boring DVD? I enjoyed this DVD so much more as the underwater camera was of such a high quality and you could make out everything that was happening, various angles with cameras, and it wasn't an in your face plugging of products DVD. A fair few stunning carp where caught, was brilliant to watch the big plated slip up and get hooked and landed, and learnt alot about bait application and how little bait you put into the lake can look like alot of bait on the lake bed, and also how carp act to new features on a spot, like the camera in this instance. All in all, I really enjoyed both DVD's, you can't compare the two directly asnd say which one is better as they where both filmed for different reasons, to show us different things and presented to us in 2 different ways. Both where brilliant and I believe they achieved everything they wanted to, and I would recommend both DVD's to anyone. Ross.
