  1. How longs a piece oif string..... 2 rods no nuts no unattended rods no spodding november to may (i think) max lead size 3oz no being a general pain (not technically a rule but a worthy point) There are more but cant think of them off hand
  2. To be fair when i went we shoehorned ourselves halfway along the road bank, it was a saturday morning and it was packed.
  3. Went last year and had two on the method using fake corn. Most boilie boys blanked. The other couple who were catching were zigging. Think id try spodding over zigs if it were me.
  4. Have bent two esp wide gape syle hooks. Use Gardner talon tips now
  5. Its 150 for nights. Cats in pit 1 and 4. Carp up to an alleged 35lbish in big lake but they apparently came out of the cabin only lake. Massive bream as well. Season ended end of march and starts again June 1st. Had a day ticket (50 quid) last season and didnt even go through the gate because i spent my time on bradmoor. Get tickets from anglers corner in kings lynn, think the shop in wisbechistan does them as well, and kevs in swafham. They limit the amount of night tickets but there are normally loads spare. Its a nice enough place and i had a couple of fun seasons fishing pit one and dabling on Geneva, but i much prefer braddy. Geneva is stupidly weedy, almost to the point of unfishable. How they managed to cram 10 or so swims into 35 acres il never know.
  6. I ended up getting some on the Talon Tip covert hooks. They look the business and i had 7 out of my club lake all at range with no loses. So on the one hand they can only get worse but so far 100% result.
  7. I used to use them bloody great Drennan Continentals in a size 4 back in the day, they were like anchors. 1/2lb silver bream used to pick them up. I don't think there is a carp alive that can't physically pick up a size 6. My local commercial that i used to fish put loads of f1s in, a shy biting fish, i think not, rip roaring runs and 1lb f1s result on size 6s
  8. yeah i realised my spelling. Have ordered a pack of the Talon Tip wide gapes. I like the idea of the beaked point and a slightly inturned eye. And of course the dull finish can't hurt
  9. Just wondered if anyone has used the new gardener carp hooks with the dull finish. Are they any good?
  10. My club in Norfolk is 70 quid a year for nights and has had 3 30s a good stock of 20s and probably another 100 or so others. It is very cheap for here though. The cheapest i know of round here is 15 quid for 24 hours. Id say 20 quid is cheap
  11. Had two and lost one last weekend. It was blowing like hell and i loved it. Was only catching 2 or 3 a day last summer, they were having it, be it february or not. And a bad days blanking is better than a good days work
  12. Swangy isn't a bad bet nice carp, cats and too many bream the last time i went. £15 for 24 hours
  13. Good luck, lake one is a lovely prospect but i just don't have to time to get the most out of it at present, plus, by my reckoning, there are at least 241 fish that im yet to meet in the second pit
  14. I didn't fish it much, 1 evening a week from june till early septemeber and i had an 8,9,10,10,13,13,15,22.04,30.13 So guessing around 15 or 16lb. They did put 14 more in around the 8-12lb mark and think i had at least two of these 'mug fish'. One bloke who fishes it a lot has 6 28lbers (5 different fish) There does seem to be quite a few low 20s. Depends what your after. Its not what id call a runs water but if all you want is the odd 20 with a chance of a 30 then it will probably do. Plus its a lovely looking water.
  15. 70 for nights and 35 for days. Ive paid that for one night at bluebell (and caught 18 bream) so its good value. There are also double bream and nice tench in bradmoor if your inclined to go for them. Pit one has got some pike in too which have some good potential
  16. Yeah no doubt il have a crack down there. They have actually had 2 30s now out of pit two. Maybe 3 but not sure. I know the ghostie came out at 33 something in the autumn. There are 4 or 5 fish around the 28lb mark as well so there is plenty to go at, especially for the money. There are rumours of a monster in pit 1 but arn't there always. By the way what ever you do make sure you take mossie spray. It is like getting attacked by the luftwaffe down there in the summer evenings. Make sure you don't leave rods fishing or litter either as they are pretty sharp with the rules (not always a bad thing). I would also suggest taking advantage of the micro barb prefered rule as i lost my first two hooked from there on barbless, one of which felt like a goodun. Could just be my ability Other than that good angling.
  17. To be fair i only got the day ticket for 35 quid. It can get busy on Fridays but there are a lot of productive swims and the regulars tend to group together for a chat, (god knows why). You should be ok getting down the around 3 anyway. I like to fish the margins and had both my better fish from them but as i said a lot get caught from the top, especially at the wood end of pit 2, it is a lot deeper at the wood end but they do like mixers and bread up there. You Will often see the big ghostie in pit 2 swimming around the top with a couple of mates and it has been taken on bread before. I had it off the bottom and would dearly like to have its mate this spring. The car park swims are always popoular but i never had a go in them last year, they always fish the bar that runs down between the islands. As for pit one it is really an untapped jewel. If you can find them there are some nice fish in there. They lost 'the slag' last year when she was around 31lb. There is a ghostie around 23-24lb in there and it tends to give away the presence of the others, You can really get lost on this lake as there is very little carp pressure. The father in law did catch a lovely 25-2 mirror off a little clear patch (only fishing evenings) last year. Now christened 'Alan the Cowboy'. (From Simpsons) As for stock levels, i would say probably 250 in pit 2 and its anybodies guess in pit 1. But don't quote me
  18. Cracking little venue. Joined last june. Had a 30 (that one <-) Made my season. They get caught a lot off the top. Cell seems to be the boilie though i fished the method all year with corn. Did go down there today and it looked bleak, roll on april when they start on the top again. It was half frozen.
  19. The father in law is a baliff and they keep a tight ship. There is very little litter and the swims are tidy. Bearing in mind it is only a club water so is not rearly run on a profit at all costs scenario, it is very respectable
  20. The valley gets stupidly weedy to the point of unfishable in the summer. Bradmoor is my bet, had a ticket for both this year and haven't even been through the gate to the valley due to enjoying bradmoor so much. Take a bat you'll be ok
  21. I think the main reason people have their gear stolen is because they get drunk. Its a nice little placce especially for the money. I had the ghostie out at just over 30lb last year and there are others coming up to the mark all the time
