thanks for all the advice guys abi has booked us into cottington lakes in Deal. as the website doesnt give much info on the lakes apart from the catch report (mmm some lumps ) have any of you fished it or have ony info, is it weedy, what sort of lake bed etc. thanks in advance doug im off sunday so will post any catches

you have clive vale, buckshole resoviours in hastings. but if you are just returning i would try wylands in battle. 7 lakes from dads n lads to spei lakes. try the local tackle shops. if you go over into kent the world is your oyster doug

hello and welcome. where about in east sussex and what sort of waters are you after im in sunny eastbourne. doug

well i have found a couple. one i have been trying to get into for 2 years i do quite fancy broadoak in crowborough, typicaly, some places came up this year and i was financialy embarassed at the time there is also a new lake being dug that has places but im not sure if the investment for the future is worth while i did join a day only club/syndicate on the water i started fishing on as a boy. but i only fish winters on it as its so clicky and full of stirring numptys which spoils it. so the quest goes on, ive applied to a couple this season (no news yet ) so im still searching, meeting more people and travelling further. so i hope something comes up for next season doug

i had the same problem. i found the whipping knot better as the line comes out straight from the hook

i have been trying very hard to make some short stiff rigs with 25lb bristle filament, its not going well. what do you all use for stiff rigs, chods (sorry nick) etc. ive tried 15lb ghost but it seems too soft any help gratefully recieved doug

back home at last. my mate tony (who is comming to the social) had a common of 25lb and a mirror of 29lb (pb for him) both of his fish came to maple 8 bottom baits and both of mine came on pink northern specials on a popup. no one else had any in the two days we were there. fish were starting to show last night about 3.30 the bayliffs seemed to think they are getting wise to maggots and was glad they are startiing to feed on boilies. there were hushed talk of a big fish at the weekend (both baliffs didnt believe the fish was that big going by the photo's they had seen) all in all a good warm up for the social. will try and get some pics up later doug

Im in the secret swim 1 and my mate is in the carpark. Just seen our first fish roll. There might be hope yet.
