  1. I have done around three sessions on the Nene (around Ringstead and Irthlinborough) I have only had two fish out (chub and a bream), but I have lost more than my fair share of carp I know a bloke who had a thirty out the Nene, but he won't say where abouts
  2. No braid at all mate, not too sure about coated hooklengths though. Anyone know how it has been fishing over the last few weeks?
  3. Gripper lead, big enough to hold in the flow. Rig wise, simple knotless knot, using a 25lb b/s braid or coated braid, to cope with snags, bikes etc Usually use a helicopter rig myself.
  4. Went fishing with my Grandad a few months back and he was using the preston hair rigs, every time he hooked a fish the link just snapped, he has never had a problem before, dodgy batch?
  5. So far i am only doing the odd session on the river, that is until next season! I am fishing around irthlinborourgh.
  6. Anyone got any tips for tackling up for a river? I'm leaving for a 48hour bash on the nene in an hour and was just wondering if anyone had any tips, I am using lead clips, tubing, 3-4 grippa leads, short supple braided hair also bait is a 10mm spicy chicken indulgence wrapped in fishmeal paste (im not bovered about bream ells etc fish are fish!). Is this anygood? Thanks
  7. I dont have pictures of the rig but im sure I could wang one together tomorrow if you want.
  8. I personally would not bother with hybrid or the super natural braid as they both snap way below the stated b/s, 20lb hybrid soft breaks at 16lb and 15lb super natural as little as 3lb. As you guess we have rang korda and all the hook lengths (exept the IQ) are going back to korda.
  9. I tried this on a local lake, I had blanked for two nights then I tried this rig (every thing was exactly the same exept the hooklength) and I caught a seven pound tench, fair enough not the intended fish but its better than blanking
  10. Im in exactly the same situation mate, come on some one must know!!
  11. I never thought of thant
  12. Nope, totaly clear.
  13. The floats are clear and if you fill them underwater then there is no chance of airs getting into them.
  14. I just found a bubble float in my tackle box and was wondering, if wether I filled it with water could it be used in place of a lead. as the lake I fish in winter is very pressured and I think I may of found my self a little edge. What do you think? Thanks
