i have always thought this only applied to Lonshank Nailer hooks or what ever they are called
-
WOOOHOOOO went into the "match tackle" shop today and they have restocked everything!! They even got the hooks in I asked for!!!
-
Dan, I do know what my own brother is doing you know, I do not need you to tell me Websters is not the shop I am going, that is the shop that is understocked, they sell hardly anything in there
-
Hi mate, I am using fake corn, the hooks and the weight of the link just about sink the bait, so i would of thought the carp will have taken it right back due to how light the bait is? Also, i am just using small pva bags on the hook for feed, any amount of bait in this lake kills it in my opinion, too much disturbance. Like the Korda dig as well

I go school 5 days a week, the shop shuts at 5 30, so I cant go then, I work on saturdays untill 5 30, so I cannot get to the shop whilst its open. I would order some, but my parents wont let me use their debit cards all the time. Also no realtives live anywhere near the shop, they are further away than me! There is also no public transport to the shop. If I could possibly get there, I would! The shop wont order any hooks in as they rarley do orders from drennan/esp, as there is little demand for the products in the shop this is due to it being leaned towards match/pleasure fishing, most carp anglers around here have to travel (by car) to a different tackleshop. On another note, i never had any hookpulls whilst using the ESP curve shank hooks in size 10, it just seemed to be the raptors

I would if it was safe, its either along the A45 or through a nice secluded path through the middle of a nature reserve lots of trees either side of the path and lots of unsavoury characters!!!

I have had a few hook pulls when using size 10 esp raptors, I never had any with size 9 drennan barbel hooks. All the fish I have caught this year have been very lightly hooked, although I think this may be to do with the running rigs? Also this year i have recently brought some shimano navis', before I was using 6000 bait runners. Could this cause hook pulls? The only thing is, my local shop doesn't really have much choice in hooks, would like to use the barbel hooks again, but have to travel about 4 miles to get them and not having a mode of transport (except a bike!) it's not really possible.

Hi all, looking for some where to get a couple of runs tomorrow, have heard good things about this lake. Anyone got any information on it? I have heard that the going tactic is to cast as close as you can to the far margin? Thanks Josh

I use the Gardner Q-rings, quality bits of kit, easy to use and turn a normal swivel into a ring-swivel, also due to the shape of the clip you don't have to use a peice of rubber to keep the rig on.

http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=28039 Have a look through that mate, I personally will not use any korda product as they seem to have a lot of mishaps and bad batches

river nene wellingborough !!
josh_reynolds replied to brett_rev's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
alright mate, I have been fishing the nene on and off for around 6 months now, not really had much joy, don't know if this is any help, just found it a second ago http://www.fishing.co.uk/article.php3?id=776 -
Quite possibly the stupidest rig ever: This rig was found trailing from a fishes mouth, the lake is a barbless only venue and the rules clearly state "No Fixed Leads", but wether they state this or not, this rig is totally unacceptable

is anyone a member of wellingborough country park

This lake is part of my local club, I really cannot understand how fish surive in it! The lake is around ten meters wide and is like a snake, at its max it is five feet deep I would guess, there is "barbel" in it and a lot of carp, I had a look around it yesterday and the local noddy brigrade who where desperate to fish were throwing bricks at the lake in an atempt to fish (to no avail), in the summer it is overcrowded and full of annoying kids trying to "carp fish the lake" using alarms and baitrunners and no un-hooking mats, the match anglers though are sound and willing to help (they have gave my brother bait and offered him advice many times). The lake is susposed to be the jewel in the crown of my club but the money would of been better spent sorting the bigger lakes. The lake also has silly rules such as no boiles or ground bait, there is one half decent rule though-one rod only, if this rule wasn't in place the nature of the people who fish here would turn up using like 3 rod set-ups. Although I must say I am glad that the lake is in place as it means "noddy and his crew" don't interfere with my fishing on the bigger lakes

So how do you use them?
-
There you go, the lead will be attached to the main line, the hooklength and possibly a fish as it will be unable to slide off the line as there is a shot in the way
-
This thread is about running leads and flying backleads, not leadclips.
-
So where is the main casting weight then? Is that not below the shot? Will it not be trapped by the swivel and the shotin the event of a crack off? If the lead and the hooklength cannot part on the event of a crack offthen it is not a safe rig. The lead clip is designed to eject the lead, a helicopter rig will not retain the hooklength if the line breaks as the beads that hold it in place should pull free.
-
This is a VERY bad idea as the shot will lock the lead onto the line, meaning the rig wouldn't be safe, so a fish could end up towing around a lead, which could end up in the death of a fish.

Usually there is a walk-through of how to construct it in the mag? By the way, it makes it a lot easier to read with punctuation ect,
