  1. I’ve got the Ci4s in 5500 - absolutely stunning reels. Wouldn’t think twice about getting the 14000’s if I needed the extra distance. You won’t regret it. Make sure you play around with the washers to adjust the line lay. Mine came more front heavy. A thick and a thin washer sorted that out - nice and flat.
  2. IMO avoid the fishing manufactures, and go for a decent walking boot.
  3. They came in 3s or 4s as a set. I used to have the Red, Yellow, Green set.
  4. I assumed that the figure quoted by BC included that - hence the difference?
  5. Plus glue, fittings, expanding foam.
  6. I used to use the euro swingers. Not really sure why they ever had three holes anyhow.
  7. Why don’t you just buy three of these? https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/Shop/CarpFishingSwingersIndicators/Fox-Mk2-Swinger-Tags.htm
  8. Make sure you always do some sort of signed for delivery for anything of any value. If the buyer disputes that the item never arrived, Paypal will insist that you provide proof of postage and delivery.
  9. Can’t go wrong with a Shimano Baitrunner 👍🏻
  10. Recently seen these from a few different companies - South Custom reels, Custom Reels UK etc. Anyone got any experience with these? The videos seem to look like they make quite a significant difference, but wonder if that’s the case?
  11. I own Free Spirit S range in 12 / 2.75. Had some build quality issues at the start - which got resolved - but they have been fantastic rods. Wouldn’t dream of changing them, unless I needed extra range - and even then, would never part with them. The Hi-S range rods are apparantly lovey as well. However, I was in Angling Direct this week and drooling over the Century C2s.
  12. Nash already have: http://nashtackle.co.uk/products/view/air-cradle-and-air-cradle-monster
  13. Aqua combi mat folds in half and has a nice shoulder carry handle
  14. I have recently got the Aqua Deluxe Roving Rucksack. I absolutely love it. Fits my needs perfectly, love having a modular system with bags to fit in certain areas. It means that I know where everything is, at all times. All the benefits of a decent Carryall, but the flexibility of a rucksack.
  15. Ianain has made a massive point though - if you sell direct to the customer, there is no middleman (Tackleshop) that also wants a cut of the profits - and therefore prices can be obviously cheaper. Boilies are sold in 5kg bags - but with an £8 delivery charge - which means they work out at £8 per kilo. Smaller companies with less overheads - advertising, staff, office space, website etc etc. Personally I like going into a shop, touching what I’m going to buy.
  16. I’ve got a Primus Omni-fuel - and run it on 4 stroke lawnmower fuel - rather than ordinary petrol. Its expensive, but unlike some gas bottles - works all year round. Also means I can fill up the fuel bottle before I go, so never have to worry about running out during a session.
  17. Hey - cheers. I was in AD last weekend and noticed - all good then!
  18. Picked up a pack of the Cryogen Curve Hooks in a 6. Look and feel nice. Shame they don’t do a barbless version for venues that have such a rule.
  19. Understand where they are for, just can’t get my head around fishing a lake so big that you need to sleep on a boat.
  20. I can’t get my head around fishing the size of a lake (inland sea?!) that something like this would be required: https://www.foxint.com/home/product/fx420-camo-boat-bivvy?c=new-products
  21. I’ve just taken delivery of a Mk2 Aqua Fast and Light in green. Can you imagine my excitement when I opened the peg bag to discover they this brolly ships with these pegs. I feel like a million dollars. 😀😀😀😀
  22. I’ve just topped up my terminal tackle using the 10% discount. And before anyone says to support your local tackle shop with this sort of thing - Angling Direct is my local
  23. Hey all, I’m sure we can all recognise some level of copying between manufactures i.e. the lead clip - each manufacture has their own version that they have tried to add their own touches to, whether that’s just their brand / colour, or a slightly different mechanic. Now, I’m not too concerned regarding this aspects of the industry, nor am I concerned that some manufactures bring in ideas from other parts of life and have repurposed them for the angling community i.e. Krusha, Nash bivvy warmer - and then add a great big ‘Carp £££’ on it, but what I am concerned about is companies popping up and performing blatant plagiarism on products. For example with Cyprinus selling exactly the same products that alternative manufactures supply - bed chairs, brollys etc. What people may not be thinking about, is that Aqua, Wychwood etc have had to go through months of design, specifications, materials, suppliers, prototypes, testing etc before a product can be offered to the consumer. This costs time and money. Now I’m not close enough to provide any figures around it, and I’m not I saying a new Wychwood bed chair would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to go from concept to production (We are talking evolution or products now - not revolution), but there is still a cost involved, that the initial manufacture has to cover somewhere. Therefore, it’s obvious that Cyprinus are able to approach the same supplier and ask them to sew a different logo onto the item, and sell that item at a much lower price. Should we be concerned about what these underhand tactics will do in the long run, or should we just care about the money in our own pocket? What happens if we loose our well known manufactures because someone else only wants to make a quick buck? Do we then loose the continued evolution / improvements of products? I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the subject, and if someone has any real information / figures on the matter.
  24. Cheers guys - such a shame - really liked those things. I have a few left over to keep me going a while. I’ll take a look at the ESP ones Nige - Cheers
  25. Hey lads - I see a few names that I remember well still on this forum - hope you are all well! I've been out of the game for a couple of years (having a kid), but starting to prepare for my first session. I used to be really confident using the Fox Arma Point Hooks (SSC mostly), but see these have been replaced by the "new" edges range. Anyone know if these are the same hooks, just packaged differently? i.e. SSC = Curve Shank?
