    Baiting Pole

having used upvc conduit in old renovations i happen to know that you can buy threaded adapters to join the new stuff to the old style steel pipe and fittings, if you glue a male on one end and a female on the other you will be able to screw 1mtr lengths together to go as far as you like, just a thought loike

  4. As one angler I doubt you would cause fish to go belly up so you would never see an issue, the issues highlighted are based around the long term use of preserved shelf life's on the aquatic environment of a water and also long term effects on the fish that are constantly exposed to preserved food. Alot of the big companies process for making ready mades has altered, I think Nash reduce the amount of the ingredients that cause the bait to go off then put them through some form of advanced drying process to achieve the shelf life status. But alot of places are still going down the Potassium Sorbate based route using excess quantities to preserve longer. Th other question about shelf life's, is down to the place you buy them from, how long has that bag been sat on the shelf, there are people that have known boilies to be sat in tackle shops for years, for me even a shelf life has a shelf life if you see what i mean

  5. I will leave these here, a link for the German paper that was done in 2008 if anyone is interested and the views from a very well known angler that has spent many years in and around the bait industry Acute toxicity of preservative chemicals in organic baits used in carp, Cyprinus carpio, recreational fishing Also knowing one of Nick's previous places of employment that handle several large bait firms contracts im sure he has seen some of the processes first hand. As for me I don't trust anyone of the big players in the bait making industry the big boys are constantly coming up with gimmicks to extract our money

  7. Hi, mate, only just seen your post..... The work party was well worth it on the Sunday, good to meet a few anglers on my club ticket and get a little insight into one of the lakes, albeit other species, tench and perch.... The carp scene on that lake is pretty hush, a good few visits needed and a bit of working it out for yourself on that front, but tbh, that suits me.......... The 48hr session on the old club lake. Well, I went for a look the evening before I was meant to go and it proper knocked the stuffing out of me.... Someone has fly tipped near the gate and no one's bothered to clear it, been there for a few months now, dirty kecks in the car park and two lads fishing with 3 rods out each and nowhere to be seen. I found them chatting at the other end of the lake , whilst I was doing a lap. Had a word, even though I don't bailiff it anymore.. It's gone to the dogs a bit, to top it off I heard that one of the bigguns was found belly up a few weeks ago, but the club aren't saying much as to whether it was ottered or not, they are a PLC and are frightened of a drop in membership..... For the record it was a nice linear of around 37lb at this time of year. So glad I'm out of that club for now. I never bothered with the session, felt gutted for a couple of days and just walked around my new syndicate a few times, didn't see much..... It peed it down for the next couple of days and then we've got the bank holiday.... Tuesday looks good for me now, back on an old ticket I used to fish. Two lakes, one being a runs water... If the main lake is busy, I'll plot up on the runs water see how it goes..... Here's the Lin at 35lb couple of Autumns ago...... RIP.
