Tips for ST. Johns lake on the Linear Complex

Hi guys its my first time going to ST. Johns lakes on the Linear complex and I need a few hints or tips to get me though the night doing a 48hr session.

Would Be greatful if you can give tips on bait strategies and if to do a, just Boilie approach or spod out hemp and Boilie chop

from what I have read my first tip would be choose a different lake. Getting a swim is like winning the lottery aparrantly.

 

If you do a SEARCH for linear or st johns quiet a few threads will be thrown up

st johns is one of the most pressured day tickets around, i have fished it and vowed never to go back, dont get me wrong its well run but just to many lines in the water all the time so the fish hold up right in the middle most of the time some of the other linear waters are a much better bet

my tip,find somewhere less pressurised, and enjoy some peaceful angling

fished st johns many times in the past and done ok

yes it gets busy

but their are so many carp in there, they will be on your baits usually within a 24 hour period as the carp are always on the move. fish travel on top of the bars in summer a lot and zigs are deadly in the spring and summer.

the lake do's switch off sometimes due to weather conditions but you can always fish one of the other lakes on the complex as they are so close.
