fitzy71 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 This is possibly the most obvious question to all of you guys who have been carp fishing a while, but has anyone got a good link to show me how to tie the above. Ive done a long search but can't really find a step by step guide? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Quote
johnplumb Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 This aint my specialist subject but ive done a few basicly you tie them as you would any basic hook lenth it just means you have to pull the whole lenth of the zig through the eye of the hook and then tie a quick link at the lenth you require ( for a fixed lenth one ) hope this helps Quote
stoogi Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I've moved this into the correct section. There's a bit of info here. Hope it helps https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=34983 Quote
bobstains Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Depending on what length your after, I tie a 4-5ft hooklength as normal then use a fox bolt bubble (or any similar float) and then your lead weight. This way you can use it at different levels in the water without retying a rig. Also it helps when fishing a 10ft+ zig as its easier to cast and play/land fish. i was bored so i drew a nice picture Quote
vinyljunkie Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 or as above minus the float if you know what depth you want to be fishing! i have a selection made up in verious sizes ready to go but the above method is good for quick changes if you are unsure ! Quote
lennyofleyland Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 fished zigs today(high pressure) played around with depths and colours till eventually(after watching the fish sunning themselves for several hours)recieved two takes in 1 hour.2 doubles on the bank to the red foam.nil 2 white, black and yellow. nealy_uk Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 I tend to fish an adjustable zig, make changing depth much easier Quote
