crazycarpkid
i was fishin the lake in danson park the lake it stacked full of small fish to around 6lb with some 20s i only ever relly fish there to get a bend in the rod. when fishing one day i lost 3 fish in a row due to hook pulls then i found some green power gum in my bag it said 14lb on it so i put it on and never lost a fish and even landed a 18lb3oz mirror on it however i dont have alot of confidence in it because its really tricky to tie knots in it and it stretches so much iv tried glue but still have douts any one eles used it what are your thoughts??? salokcinnodrog
Power Gum for Rigs Yuck! The stuff has very little Abrasion Resistance, goes off for No reason and in my view should not be used except for tying stop knots or for tying bait to the Hook! crazycarpkid
ok so you dont think it should be used then is there any other 'strechy' materials i could use??? becuse it definatly does work because it is always pulling on the hook
salokcinnodrog
The first things I would change in any of my rigs are the Hair length and the Rig length. If you want to create an extending rig use a length of silicon tubing and fix it over the swivel end of the rig. With a braid hooklength of say 12 inches have 4inches of tubing. Extend the tubing down the braid and then let go, it will draw the Braid back inside it, you then have a hooklink that extends when you get a take. I'll find a Picture of it. It was featured in an Article Last year or so In a Mag, and is a Rig that Rob Maylin published in his Book "Carp" back in the early 90's. There are also another couple of ways to Make extending or Concertina Hooklinks

salokcinnodrog
Extending Link with Braid and also a "Sliding link" Extending Rig. Incidentally although Marked as Terylene any Braid will do, and it doesn't have to be used with a Pop-up
