plebhead
i use a "modified" version of the korda longshank for the majority of my fishing, if i do use a popup/zig then i'll use a wide gape
Guest Anonymous
Nash Fang X Â I use these for 95% of my fishing, never let me down yet:)
plebhead
i was the same, used fang x exsclusivly (sp? dont care) untill i lost 2 fish one after the other withing 2 mins, playing one and lost it just as i got my second run then lost that, i kid you not, to which i changed to the wide gape and long shank, and touch would, ive nor=t lost a fish since, now whether this is to do with my change in hook patern i dont know? but it has certainly given me my confidance back
chrispayne
Could be to do with the way the fish picked up the bait, giving you a poor hook hold. Nash Fang X and ESP super specalist are all i use.

ESP raptors for bottom baits Korda longshanks for pop-ups Owners for real stiff rigs. Â I don't believe one hook will perform all tasks

sam_l
i use raptors for mine in 6 -10 i find more confidence in smaller hooks dunno why tho
carp_king
i usually always use raptors mostly 4-8 i find they give a good hold without the need of a barb. so u dont damage the fish`s mouth as i think we should all use barbless to keep our fish in tip top condition
plodder
carp_king, the use of barbless hooks has been banned on some of the larger carp fisheries(e.g. CEMEX) because of the damage they can inflict to the fishes mouth through multiple hook-ups. Microbarbed every time for me.

richchappy
what do people think of fox series 1 hooks?
plodder
Fox do some pretty good gear. I don't know who makes their hooks. But my experience of Fox hooks has been very disappointing. Carp hooks that straighten out and pike trebles that snap. I won't even try any new patterns sold under the Fox name now.
Guest Anonymous
agree about the fox hooks utter and total crap, funny really as the new range of terminal tackle seems spot on.
